Umm lazs we don't have zombies down here, nor do we need personal guns for safety.

Waaa, someone doesn't need guns, waaa I feel offended when someone doesn't feel he needs a gun, waaa waaa big deal even if you can get a _registered_ gun any time you like.

You really should get over that paranoia lazs. Without it you'd probably be a fun person.

Sorry to hear that lazs.. we don't.

What I'm trying to say here is that you should try to understand we live in two totally different countries and your needs do not meet my needs in many cases such as weaponry.

As I said lazs if (and it's a very big IF) the need should arise one day I can walk in and register for a carry permit.

Simple. As long as I don't have a criminal record as a burden.

The seat belt thing is interesting.. Are you saying you've never traveled in your car above 30mph speeds? I know I have.

No lazs. According to my logic once you pass the 30mph speed your chances of getting hurt in a collision rise exponentially.

As for now, living in here keeps you below the 30mph limit, flying to US would put me to 500mph travel speed. ;)

addmitedly tho... some places are more dangerous than others... car wise or crime wise.

Lazs lets just say I don't know anyone who ever even thought of getting a gun for personal safety.

I don't know anyone personally who ever got robbed in thier life or got thier house burglarized. Well, there is one exception but that happened in a country that's 3000km away from here. :)

The only place where I've even witnessed a physical assault during last 15 years was a night club full of drunk people. They don't allow firearms inside nightclubs if that's what you were thinking. ;) Nor could you use one.

So you're right.. I trust the law enforcement to handle the crime as it really isn't such a problem where I live.

It's never impossible.

But at current state I can't see any reasonable reason for anyone at my neighbourhood to arm themselves for anything other than recreation.

For example my uncle own several (registered) handguns, a .22 single shot, a .22 auto and a .22 rifle with scope and silencer, a .44 auto and a 357 magnum revolver.

Occasionally we go to the range to burn some powder.

But for safety... just not necessary.
