i think a6skins should be allowed....externally i think 6 and 5 are the same..and its mre than likly the pilot has upgraded his plane and just as likely kept his cammo

I'm 99% sure they won't allow A-6s. They're close, but they're different planes. They want to keep the skins specific to the model in AH2, because they may add stuff down the line. (who knows, especially if TOD brings out a need for different variants later).

Right off the bat I see one big difference: It has MG131s under the cowling. Our A-5 doesn't.

A6 was just A5 with MG/FF's replaces by MG151/20( 175 rounds)

Hackl's Fw190A-6 scheme, WAS in the game already. It was one of the Fw190A-5 skins I did.

Perhaps I could try upgrading it to the new 190 standards JAWs.

Kweassa, that was back when they didn't care what model skin was being put on what plane. They have since started caring.

EDIT: Also from what I understand every version of the 190 got an improved engine (even if only slightly better rated) than the version before. Constant updates were being made to the aircraft since they were put into production. That means the 5 and 6 are not identical, save for different guns.

Actually, IIRC their basic agenda remains the same.

A scheme for a major variant which might be able to be separately modelled sometime in the future, might not be acceptable, but minor variants which are VERY simular in overall stature are still accepted.

Like JAWs mentioned the A-6 is an A-5 with the MG-FFs changed to MG151/20s(which ironically.. makes the A-5 a 'minor', and the A-6 a 'major'...). It is one of the most commonly produced 190 variants.. probably ranking 2nd in overall production numbers(with the A-8 in the first place).

The only reason I'd not recommend it to be skinned, is because if a lot of people think the same and go for A-6 schemes, it would take the place of A-5 schemes. It'd be pretty weird to have 15 Fw190A-5 skins, with 8~9 of them depicted as A-6s.

The best solution is to try and find a profile of a Fw190A-5 used by Anton Hackl.

Hackl certainly did not score all of his victories in his A-6... and the transition period between A-5s and A-6s were very short. In the middle of 1943 Fw190A-5s were still being equipped, and then in a few months, the Fw190A-6s were already arriving.

So, it is VERY HIGHLY possible, that Hackl probably used the same paint scheme for his Fw190A-5s and A-6s. Fly a few months in the Fw190A-5, the A-6s arrive, paint it the same way and fly the A-6.. you get the pic.

The only thing we'd need, is find a profile pic of Hackl's A-5.

Except, I tried it last time, and failed. (Although my source was severely limited)

Well I remember a big hoopla that rose up around making certain p38 skins for our p38s. One version was allowed (because it was 99% identical) but several were not, even though they were minor variants. And there's almost no chance we're getting any new P38s any time soon, but they wouldn't allow them. That's one example of what comes to mind. After that I seem to recall Skuzzy or HT or somebody saying "No skins for other versions outside of what we have" or some such edict. If I'm wrong then all is well. But that's what I remember.

That's a good idea. I know the last skin I was working on had some very conflicting resources (websites.. Pshaw! You just can't trust them anymore! lol). Some webpages all had the exact same color plate but labeled it as an A-4, an A-5 and an A-6. Well the A-4 webpage wasn't reliable as they were calling several A-5s "A-4s". The A-6 seemed to be a select few other game skins that wanted it as an A-6. All the non-game related websites called it an A-5 (and so did the decals), so by process of deduction I decided it was an A-5 (which suited me fine lol!)
