ok, so heres is what happened in our CT fight.

I was La5, and you were 109F

you dive from 10k on me. I am at 3k.

as you close to 1000yrds you might have a top speed of 430mph?

at 800yrds i dive vertically down to 500ft, bringing my speed up to about 420mph.

a slight scissor to the right and you overshoot and miss your shot.

now, with absolutely no hard movements i roll back to the left and am on your tail at 600yrds.

our speeds are now equal at 400mph as you have lost E pulling up to hard, and i have smoothly followed you up.

the 109F has an awesome climb rate, but so does the La5.

We climb in this manner for about 2,500ft as you atempt to rope me.

you stall out 600yrds ahead of me and i react to this by judging where your going to fall past me. I n making this judgement i have a projected view of my gun solution and i kick hard on my rudder and line up for where you will pass me in a few seconds.

as you whizz by now travelling 10 times faster than me i grab a snapshot from 20 yrds right in your canopy.

simple physics mate :)

PS: why do i always get discoed after i shoot you down and you log off? :p

no, no.

there wasnt much verbage.

i just find it all too common that people say....

" i Dived from 10k on you at 2k and then you manage to follow me up in my rope??? That is just uber, totaly porked. stupid modeling there is no way that is possible"

now i just wanted to explain it in a form longer and more simple than the in-game chat buffer.

what we have to remember is....

it doesnt matter how 'high' you are when you start your attack. You aircraft can only go to its top speed. the majority of that 10k is wasted as you have to burn off your speed so as not to destroy/compress in the dive.

then add to this the fact that the plane you attack may 'present itself' as an easy target, when in reality the opponent is just equalising your E advantage.

while i am diving and gaining lots of speed, you are following and not gaining any speed, you are already maxed out.

so..... at the bottom of the dive, when we start to climb again, we are in much more equal E states than if the low aircraft had flat turned or pull up into the challenge.

maybe this should be in the help forum.

well for a new pilot there is nothing wrong with it.

An experienced pilot should be flying a more difficult plane.

Kind of like if you go into a pool hall and beat all the best shooters in there with a bent house cue and a crappy tip.

I don't fly what I would like to in order to force myself to learn more. It means I get shot down a lot more than I would but I don't feel like I'm using a crutch.

Not saying anything about anyone else, fly what you want, just my personal ethics.

So waitaminute.

You sit on top of a fight where no one is watching you most likely.

When they are fighting 3-4 other nme you swoop in and kill them when they are low and slow and can't get out of your way?

Sounds like a vagina to me.
