MT, I agree, but only if you have the terrain to use it. I can't imagine having a Jeep in Kansas.

aaaagh - jeeps! I was *transported* in a Jeep once - I was in the US at the time. I think it was called a Renegade or something like that, and looked like that black thing in the pics above^.  It was a lunch outing from work. We only had to go a short distance - less than 2 miles, and even though it was 25 years ago, I will never forget that ride as the most bone jarring, uncomfortable experience I've ever had.

The most uncomfortable ride since then was in 1999 - a ride to the airport in a Lotus Elise. I had to be helped out of it by a couple of SkyCap girls. :lol

$5,000 says Kansas has PLENTY of Four wheeling terrain.   EVERY State, has terrain for it. Whether it is Rockcrawling, Mudding, Trail raising, etc.

A hot highschool girlfriend, summer vacation, a bit of cash, no obligations, and one of these:

A porsche it isn't. A must own before you die? I'd have to rank it up there.

LOL beetle... here even women don't think the jeep is too bad.. Lotta women own em.

916 Duccati?  My son owned one.  I rode it a little.  he had the fairing off.   I thought it was ok for a sport bike.   I can ride a sport bike any time I want... Like I said... ya gotta beat people off to keep em from forcing you to ride their lattest cooky cutter neon rocket.  He allso had a buel... that was a neat bike but not a must have.

Fairladies?  drove a few... what a boring friggin car.    miata?  seriously... I am fairly secure in my masculinity but.... that is pushing it.

Four wheelin?  never got into it much.

The cars I mentioned can all be had for reasonable amounts if you buy a poor example and fix it up or make a clone.  I even find examples of big Healeys that can be had for less than ten grand that could be Americanized.    Jensen Healeys are cheap as dirt.   Plain jane chevells and tempests are cheap.    No cheap Porches.

Pantera
Testarossa
Speed12
Modena, 430 or 360
the Tommy Kaira ZZ with a mid-mounted Skyline engine and adjustable torque split.

Realisticaly, a GT-R N1 could be it.
If cash were no object I'd do a first year Cerbera 4.5 and fix the handling.  Or the same with a BMW M1, though that's prolly not realistic.

Always wanted a microbus.. My buddy had one. Seemed to be up on blocks more than it was on the road.

We took it into the mountains once.... just once.  With a full load of teenagers and their stuff it made it about 1/2 way. Even in 1st gear the little motor was screaming for help.

Don't know about "must own before you die" cars.  All I really want right now is to get my '78 Scout Traveller Diesel running again.

...preferably without the diesel.

hhhmm, and an FJ40.

I guess I never really got the appeal of "Mudding" myself.
