Wow Chair.......just wow.
First off, I didnt directly accuse the guy of anything. I just new something was up. I just showed him the report and asked him to explain it to me. I never mentioned the words "steal" or "switched" or anything of the sort. It kind of shocked me that HE jumped to that conclusion. I was willing to chalk it up to an honest mistake or listen to his explanation as to why it was showing what it did.
But the fact of the matter is: He didnt mention anything when i was paying for the computer about it running slower..for any reason whatsoever.
When I discovered this fact on my own, I simply called him to ask him what was up. He gave me reasons like: some CPUs were mislabeled (after which i informed him that It clocked right before,) that the CPU must have been "partially damaged," and that "he couldnt do anyhting about it."
All of that stuff didnt fly for me.
I havent pulled the heatsink off yet, which i guess i will have to in order to be sure. I hope it is fairly obvious and I wont have to go decoding a bunch of numbers to figure out just which processor it is.
The simple fact is, I either got ripped off, which if that is not the case I'm more than man up to admit and aplogize for indirectly accusing the guy of ripping me off going with the info I had when i made the said quasi-accustation; or he was hiding something (the fact that my computer would now run 25% slower) that he should have informed me about before I paid for the work and left the store.
Either way I was deceived, plain and simple.
Like I said, i wont know for sure I guess unless iI pull this thing apart, but regardless of that, the guy flipped out when I wanted a wrong righted.
That only added suspicion to whole case.
I was more than polite and curteous with him on both occasions...not losing my cool in the least or firing off direct accusations as you have assumed.
Ill be sure to let everyone know what happened when I get this resolved. RIght or wrong.
