New Business off and running
« on: May 23, 2005, 10:54:58 PM »
As some of you know, I quit my job awhile ago and started my own business with a friend. We sell and install synthetic grass and golf turf in Arizona. Since we are all friends here, let's just call it fake grass. :p

It's been a lot of work to get everything going, but it's been very exciting.

We have just secured our first three jobs for a gross of $26000.00.  I will post some pics of the before and after if anyone cares.

We have radio and print adds starting tomorrow. I'm going to die working in the 110 + heat, but hey......it's my arse on the line, so I might as well die trying. :D

My neighbor just paved his yard and painted it green. A nice bright flourescent green.

Cracks me up.. but some of the other neighbors are pissed. "mumble mumble EYSORE.. mumble mumble, oughta be a law..."

That cracks me up even more. I love NY.

I must be damaged.. but gawdamn, every time I see it I start laughing. One guy even stopped his car.. got out and TOUCHED it!

Lordy.. but I'm easily entertained.

LOL Hangtime!

Our stuff looks just like real grass though, so I hope not to be getting too many complaints. :)

How well does it resist damage from UV?

Any other maintenance concerns?

What's a reasonable ballpark /sq.ft. cost to the end user?

I'm hoping he mows it. I'll be sure to ask him what fertilizer he uses to 'bring out the color' next time I see him. Ain't seen his wife in awile.. maybe he used her.

15 years gauranteed not to fade. The only maintenance is really just to blow it off with a leaf blower when leaves or dirt  pile up.

We have 35 different types of grass and golf turfs, but I'd say a really good looking grass is between 5 and 10 dollars a square foot installed, with the range allowing for what needs to be done to remove and prep the old lawn.

It's not cheap, but in the long run it can work out to be a good deal. It really does look good and is almost no maintenace.

Fake grass? Is that what we call "astroturf"? That's what some of our football pitches are made of.

All the best NUKE!

WTG Nuke. Live the dream bud. Much success to you.

Question:
Does Bush grow through the turf?  hehe political Joke.

Seriously what happens to rain on the turf? Do you make drainage fields?
