the wife and I graduated 21 years ago.

yesterday I accidentally did some math out-loud that almost got my prettythang kicked.

my wife was reminiscing about a few of the concerts we went to in our HS days.

it occurred to me (unfortunately out-loud) that as we were sitting there looking back to these concerts, that we were looking back about 5 years farther than those 'ancients' who were looking back to Woodstock while we were in HS.

funny the things that will piss off a woman.  just about anything that causes them to add up the years will do.

back on subject now-  my oldest daughter graduates this week (2 down, 1 to go).  any of my kids graduations are a way bigger deal to me than mine ever was.

If you liked school, you'll love work.

shh, you're not supposed to tell them about the reality of it.

I tell my kids life is like baseball.  if you put out maximum effort in the beginning and knock it out of the park, you can take a leisurely stroll around the bases.  if, however you just give the batting enough effort to get on base, you'll end up having to run your butt off, steal, claw, slide and crawl through the dirt just for a chance at making it home safe.

as I get older though it seems more like a video game.  as you do better and finish yet another level in grand style, they just keep giving you bigger and harder problems at an ever increasing speed until you finally die.  the points you rack up don't really mean anything in the end, and they don't even give you a reset button.

Congrats, you have just finished the begining. Now the rest starts. :)

My son graduated last May
