I'm trying to fly as many different planes as I can this tour, adn it's got me thinking -- (a dangerous pastime, I know) -- what is the deadliest plane for its ENY value?

I know its the pilot, not the plane, but some planes are expensive realtive to their advantages, and some seem easier to get kills in than their eny would suggest.

Assuming the plane is flown competently to its advantges, what do you guys think is the best ENY value?

My vote is for the C.205. Good guns, fast enough, climbs great, maneuverable, and the same eny as a hurri2c.

Now HTC should fix the ENY system... it's out of whack and 205 should be in the same CLASS as the Bf-109G-2/G-6, and others ect when it comes to farming perks...

205s are always excellent perk farmers.

F4U-1s are great for a CV-based plane..

The Fw190A-5/A-8 is also pretty good in typical MA engagements.

G would be OK if you could actually see the things you were trying to shoot at - deflection shooting is a nightmare

I'll second the F4U-1... The range on the thing is tremendous, letting you restock your E after many engagements, accurate, deadly guns, it can run down many planes and force a fight, it can plunge through a dive with pretty much anything and force a fight - basically, you can force a fight with any plane with a very low ENY, and once you force them, you have the tools to kill them.

Hmmm. Tough one for me. I think the 38j/g, A5, and 205 are all far more lethal than their ENY indicates. I don't like the F4U-1 much, but I think the F4F-4 and FM2 are great aircraft. I lean toward cannon-armed planes due to my horrid gunnery, but all of those listed are good planes in the MA. I think the 109F deserves a mention as well. Actually, I have to throw in the hurricane 2c as well. Slow, but quad hizooks, great handling relative to the Big4 in the MA. And the Zekes. They burn like Coleman lanterns, but handling exceeds anything I've seen in the MA. Come to think of it, I like all the hight ENY rides.

Well i disagree with you here hubsonfire, the early war high eny planes are horrible.

Spit 1, Hurry 1, P40B, A6M2, 109E and C202 are all pretty hard to get kills in. Sure, if you fly good, do cherry picking or find an unskilled enemy you can get kills in them, but i dont find it fun.

So while the real high eny planes are bad perk farmers you can get a lot out of the planes just below that category... between 40 and 50 eny rating are some verry nice planes.

109F is the best IMO. Any P47, 190a5, and even the lowly 202 is great as long as you don't get in over your head.
