Just for my own satisfaction;
Why is there no B-52 bombers in the game?

Seriously?

Ok, on the off chance that you are actually serious:

The B-52 is not in Aces High because it is not a WWII aircraft.  The first service B-52 was received by the Air Force in June, 1955.  WWII ended on September 2nd, 1945 when the Japanese signed an unconditional surrender onboard the USS Missouri.

Note the nearly 10 year gap between the two.

Hi Morgorth,

>Just for my own satisfaction;
>Why is there no B-52 bombers in the game?

Probably you were thinking of the Boeing B-29 "Superfortress" which was used in the Pacific Theatre in WW2?

(The B-52 is the Boeing "Stratofortress" jet bomber which was developed in the Cold War era.)

I don't know why the B-29 is not in the game - perhaps because it was a very complex aircraft that's difficult to model in the game?

Thanks guys,
funny, I was looking at Greenpeace's site at the time of my first post and it was from there that I got the "B-52" thought.

"At 8.15 on 5 August 1945, a US B52 bomber dropped the first nuclear bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima causing tens of thousands of deaths."
Greenpeace
Upon further looking though, I see now that it was in fact a B-29

Thanks again

lol shows how smart greenpeace is....

At 8.15 on 5 August 1945, a US B52 bomber dropped the first nuclear bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima causing tens of thousands of deaths.

I find four things wrong in the first sentence.

1. August 6th

2. B29

3. Atom Bomb

4. Dont know the exact number but it was in the 200,000 death range.

Now look here son, I'm a Liberal, but I would never, not in a million years, use Greenpeace as a reference for military hardware.  The thought boggles my mind.

It is like the bumpersticker I saw on the way home today about the Navy needing to hold a bake sale to buy battleships.  Painful idiocy written by people who don't even bother to educate themselves on the subject they are pontificating about.  It reveals them to be idiots, well intentioned, but idiots nonetheless.  And idiots can do great damage with their ill informed good intentions.
