but the b29 should only be put into AH if it is perked, otherwise the B17 VS B24 debate would be irrelivant. also people would only use it and no other bombers simply because it is so much better than anything else.

PS
we should also have vapor trails at high altitudes and if possible durring high-G turns.

b29 will be the last bomber put in the game. last thing we need is another heavy allied bomber.

[edit] we need these.....

What Karnak said.

But... do people actually think that bombers used over Iraq are the same as used in WWII?

That's mindboggling to me... but seeing the B-52 reference (which is still being used and is after all very very old) it might make a little more sense.

I have a few questions though, you guys will know:

How many B-52 are still in service today?

Are there retirement plans for these aircraft and if so, when?

Are there upgrade programs being considered (you never know)?

When did the currently used B-52's enter service, as they are of a later variant? 1960's?

If you can point me to a site where this info can be found that would be great too.

We definately do not need the b29, you bomber pilots got the b17 and the b24 which are plenty especially the b24 has speed, firepower, and bombload.  If a new bomber would be added I would like to see the b25 the most, it has a lot of options in it.

The only model of B-52 still in use is the B-52H.  They were built from 1960 through 1962.  There are probably around 50 or 60 of them still in service, and these will likely remain in service for years or possibly even decades.

I seem to recall a planned retirement in 2040 for the B-52.

If you think about it, that would be like our fighter pilots now still flying Spad XIIIs agewise.  Capability is of course another thing altogether.

Only the prototypes were in olive drab.  All of the service machines were bare metal as I understand it.
