I'd be very pissed.

Why/how did they accuse you of stealing twice in the last week? Seems a little strange.

Brush it off...why let it bother you.  He sounds like an overzealous pinhead, and will prolly get quickly disinterested (if he hasn't already) when he gets nowhere with you.

Is he trying to impress "management" that Inspector Clouseau is always on the job and no one is above suspicion?

That was my thoughts on the first incident. This second time just really got under my skin. I have never, NEVER been a thief. I've had too much stuff stolen from me and I hate a thief more than anything on the face of the earth.

RPM when I worked in retail LP guys were never "cool".  They did their job and sometimes took it to the extreme.  I don't know how it's going on at your store(s) but just like upper managment is screaming at you to produce his boss is yelling at him to catch.

This might now be the case at all and the guy's just an arse.  If that's the way you feel what harm would it do to talk to him one on one and ask him what's up.  Show him the respect that you know he has a job to do and tell him how you think he's doing it.

Maybe after a few weeks the guy will settle down into a routine and get the hang of his new surroundings.

as the bellybutton manager does he work for you?

No, he works for "corporate". I probably should blow it off, but twice in a week just really got to me.

I did ask him where he was when a lady shoplifted $50 worth of the prime ribeyes we had Sunday, 5 minutes before I walked out with the plant I paid for.

I allways tell people this.  Try and be the better person.  If he want's to continue "stalking" you file a formal complaint citing the above mentioned theft and allways be a profesional about it.

G'luck

Workin Retail sucks... yer a target for the shrinkage because yer 'management', yer a target for pinhead customers because they are pinheads, yer a target for problem employees because yer the 'man'.. gawd; I hated retail. Not many folks 'enjoy' food shopping so yer not in the loop for postive customer encounters often.. a thankless ungratifying job for me.

As for this security supercop.. he's dangerous. An overzealous twit with a hard on for yah, having been 'made a fool of' twice will probably fabricate the evidence in your next encounter.. If your name already features in his reports to his superiors yer probably already damaged goods reputation wize with the company.  I'd be howling right up the management chain about this clown.. at the very least a written enounter report with your manager and a formal clairfication with your seniors regarding areas of responsibility, methods and reporting for the security clowns is in order.

Best defense is an organized focused offense. In yer shoes I'd confront the poser in the presence of the manager and file a formal grievance.. get mean. Yer reputation, if not yer phoney-baloney (pun intended) job is at stake.

Best of luck, buddy!

My 1st thought too. And like JB73 said, if they're real jerks it can really hurt you. I'd be looking for employment else where if I were you.
