I went to go see SW3 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Paid about 20 bucks for three of us and we didnt buy any food or drink. Since this was 3 weeks after the release and was a 830pm show on a wednesday night we had our pick of seats. Was a total of about 20 people in a cinema that seats ....well........alot more than 20.

I might go see 1 or 2 films a year.

And yes, cinemas are overpriced and the industry is hurting themselves by making the experience too difficult for many people to want to bother with. DVD rentals are way more popular than visiting cinemas.

Whiners....hell, everyone whines about everything.

Why do you think god (or maybe just Al Gore) invented online forums? Where else can I read complaints about the current state of the theater industry right alongside the proper way to set up a tranny for optimal 1/4 mile performance?

You bet Westy! Stereo sound too, and it's one of those newfangled models with rollers instead of legs. The TV is actually one of the newer pieces of furniture I have; most of the stuff dates from the '40's - '60's. I'm not a big fan of the "modern" (AKA all plastic all the time) look. Personal preference.

I go to the movies all the time. Lately, with school and whatnot, I have the ability to go during the day...usually to the first showing. Price ain't that bad during the day, and my local theater chain (Regal) has a card you can get for free that you have them swipe when you buy a movie ticket or buy something from the concession stand, and you earn points, and get free stuff when you hit certain point levels. You also get a free small popcorn on Tuesdays with the card (which can be upgraded for the price difference which is $.25 between the sizes).

I saw High Tension the other day. It cost me $5.75 for the ticket, it was Tuesday so I got a free small popcorn, and I hit a level that gave me a free small drink. Upgraded 'em both to medium and was up to $6.75. Also, I was one of three people in the theater, and the other two, a couple, left about twenty minutes into it. Oh, and the movie was pretty good too.

Some movies I have. actually now that I think about it.quite a few.
And I rarely bother renting anymore. I just buy it then I can watch it at my leasure and not have to worry about returning it on time or late fees.

Same thign with books. I've for example read BH Liddel Harts book "Strategy" 4 times. As well as both volumes of "The Patton Papers"
Quit a few regular novels I've read multiple times and enjoyed just as much as the first time I read them.

I only go to the ****in movie theaters because I'm not patient enough to see the movies I want to see out on DVD.

Almost all movies I see in the Theaters I will buy on DVD. There isn't a single movie I own that I don't like.
