So I put my 64 bit system back together after I fried it overclocking and had to wait for my RMA's to comeback....
The system has a serial ATA HDD and an old IDE HDD with all my mp3's. The box also has a dvd player drive and cd/rw.
I go ahead and install everything in the typical order os/sp2/system drivers/DX9.C/sound/video.
After I install the current NVIDIA nForce4 System VIA drivers the DVD starts to act up. Now it will read a cd but if I try to run any *.exe from the DVD drive it crashes and says the file is corrupt, hence I can never load a game off a DVD(BF2).
I'm totally lost to what the reason is for the drive to not run *.exe files. Anyone have an idea how to get this working other than reformatting and not updating the system drivers?
