Nilsen, I know what you were getting at. I was simply reminding you that the question was to define race. My drivers license, pilots license, A&P certificate do not define race. Certainly not in the context of the thread here.

Laz I didn't bring up the issue of "race". I just asked for it to be defined in the context of the thread. There are 2 primary people posting on this thread mentioning race specifically or the alleged "contract clause" and or the alleged bias against Washington kissing a "white woman". I am simply asking what the definition of "race" is. I'll have additional questions later depending on the answer I get, if any.

If anybody has to "explain what Race means" to you, you are out of your league sir.

heck there are distinct differences in black people in america,and blacks in africa.

they genetically do not resemble each other. IIRC i saw something about how blacks in america more resemble europeans on the genetic level now.

if in 300 years people who came from africa do not genetically resemble their direct ancestors, imagine in 3000. now add in asia, south america, india.... the only thing i actually see is there being more divisions, and distinctions than in the past.

I was wondering if anyone had the strength of their convictions to define the term "race" as it pertains to people. Apparently not. I brought it up as there were posts claiming race was a definate situation. I was hoping some would enlighten us as to exactly how there are seperate "races" and why it means anything.

FWIW I define race in regards to humans in a simple manner. There is one race of sentient people on the planet, specifically human. They just come in different shapes, sizes and skin tones with just 2 genders.

I don't if this is a New Age progression, but saying Denzel does not kiss human females is in no way descriptive of what supposedly goes on.  Denzel does not kiss WHITE females.   We are all equal in stature.  To say we are all the same physically is ludicrous and too-PC if you ask me.

If you are responding to me please explain why you feel it is so.

Also if you are speaking to me don't assume I have anything to do with "PC". My opinion has nothing to do with "new age", it's based on my experiances in bigotry and prejudice not to mention that "parts" seem to be rather interchangable irregardless of skin tone and genetics are rather curiously intermingled. I simply do not see nor do I recognise any hard lines regarding differences based on appearances.

As far as I know there is only an allegation that Denzel does not kiss females of any particular color. No one has provided the alleged clause or proof that he has specified any bias of this nature. FWIW I don't recall seeing Clint Eastwood in any scenes kissing a woman of color either. Does he have a clause as well?

Mav I was going to use pictures of known celebrities black and white to show their differences physically.  But in these times, I could not find one picture in which maybe Beyonce Knowles had a clearly African-American feature.  It's a simple fact that Nicole Kidman could have the same feature as well.  The only difference being skin color.  So, in essence you are right, it is hard to really define race, mostly due to the fact that the ""-American after most names has given everyone similar traits.
