That's a great experience, isn't it Brooke.  Worth every penny.  I did it a couple of years ago.  Of course, right after I transfered all of the pictures to my computer, the HD died and I lost all but one.  Luckily, the one was my favorite picture:

Obviously, that was before it was repainted.  Being 6'4", I didn't risk trying to get into either turret.  I'm sure I would not have gotten out again.

When they come to IL, I'm thinking about sending my wife up.

Wow!  That is an awesome shot!  It's very sad to hear that your disk failure lost your other pics. :(

Yippee... As much as I like the wind in my face, and as much as I love heights, I dont think I have the stones to hang my head out of a flying aircraft...

Awesome pics Brooke!  Best Ive ever seen inside a b24!

I just finished Wild Blue myself...enjoyed it. When you were talking about the break away doors, it reminded me of the book. Learned alot of cool stuff from it.

BTW..Tilt, Kelly and me were lookin for ya...but Tilt got booted, and Kelly had a pizza come..so I rtb...we'll get ya next time :)

A 180 mph wind (or thereabouts), I believe.  Ahhhh . . . refreshing. :)

Howdy, Filth!  Thanks!  Yeah, that was a great book.  I love Ambrose's WWII books.  Another one that I hear is very good is Wings of Morning:  The Story of the Last American Bomber Shot Down over Germany in World War II, by Thomas Childers.

Howdy, SarinGas.  Thanks, and I'm glad you liked the pics.  The Collings Foundation B-24 and B-17 are, I believe, in Texas each year during their yearly tour of the US.  In the past, they have stopped in Houston, Dallas, and Austin.  They also sometimes stop in Oklahoma and New Mexico.  The cities they visit change from year to year -- the yearly schedules are here:
