I bought a ticket for tonight's Eurolotto. It was worth 80 million Euro which is about $95 million . Ok, the odds of winning are apparently 76 million to 1. But hey, we can all dream.

It wasn't won tonight so next friday it'll be worth 90 million Euro. Somebody, somewhere will win that money eventually. It's an insane amount of money.

It got me to thinking what I could do with that money. A selection of warbirds would be on the list. Spitfire, P51, F4U Corsair. A few jets. Not to mention houses. One somewhere tropical, A New York apartment. A beach house in Santa Barbara. A nice place in Spain, France or Italy or all three.
My own private airstrip, probably grass. With a scattering of classic biplanes, Cubs and the like mixing it with my warbirds. I'd probably have to buy a few politicians too so the planning would get through.

Would I be happy with all that money? Damm right I would.

So what would you do with more than a hundred million tax free dollars?

if it is $90,000,000 AFTER taxes...

give 12% to step father
give 12% to father
give 12% to church
give 1% to each each of 4 very close friends
give 25,000 to each family member only (10,000 if this number is before taxes)

build the house i have plans for which has an included music studio.

build a subdivision of my own, and give lots approx 2 acres to friends.

buy a lamborghini countach
buy an original 427 shelby cobra
have a custom 1980 monte carlo made (my first car)
buy a harley
buy a buell sport bike
buy a chris craft boat
buy a ultralight

invest the rest

live off interest

I would zero out friends and families debt and then live off 1/2 to 3/4 of the intrest.

buy controlling interest in a certain company, and fire some in managment, give the rest a paycut, plus make them work the OT hours the workers have to (salaried don't get OT pay).
within a year, force a dividend payout and walk away with $150 million.

pay back is hell.

or build a playboy mansion on the east coast.

Get me an old pickup truck, a 5000sqft shack on 10,000 acres with some lakes and a stream or 3, and spend time there when I am not hunting 2000# Marlin around the world from my Mothership:

Pay off mine and my parents debt and give them a million, and give 20k to each relative. Buy a decent 500k ish home.

Buy a Beechjet or similar corporate jet, put it into a lease back program so I fly for free.

Build the hockey arena in my birth town and name it after my brother.

Invest the rest and use the interest to live off and start a stable of warbirds.

I wouldn't change a thang. Maybe I'd put a new roof on the double wide and replace the old broken TV antenna up on top. But otherwise I'd stick it all in a "chew" can and bury it near my favorite fence post so it'll be handy for when the apocolypse gets here!

Well no one could accuse you of not being ready for it, Mustaine.

I like the idea of a Shelby Cobra. That goes on my list too. A boat too. Also an amphibian or a seaplane. Sponsor a motor racing team on the proviso they accept a driver of my choice; me!

Of course my family would be looked after. I daresay the church will be looked after too. But that will be my Mother's job.

Joking aside, somebody somewhere in one of nine European countries will have that choice soon and it is tax free.

I hope they choose wisely.
