MONTY PYTHON are making a comeback
« on: July 21, 2005, 11:18:04 AM »
This should be fun.

A new six-part series will use new material and some best-loved old clips.

John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones will film the new clips at various locations including Teddington Lock in London and the Hollywood Bowl in California.

The five surviving Pythons will write and present one special episode each and team up to write a sixth super-episode in honour of the late Graham Chapman.

A spokesman for the US TV network PBS said: "They have all chosen their favourite bits from old Python films and the television series and linked them together in their own crazy way."

Monty Python’s Personal Best will be screened in the US next year.

At the moment there are no plans to show the series in the UK.

The "Spamalot" play on Broadway completely sold out in 2 weeks. The first review of it was intersting in that the guy doing the review could not remember going to a single play where the crowd always started laughing before the "joke" was half over.

Yes - it was widely believed at the time that he'd died of AIDS, but this theory was dismissed as rumour. No-one would have been surprised though, as he was known to "bat for the other side".

I never knew anyone had passed on.  Sad to hear it.  I nearly died the first time I watched the Parrot skit.  It still is my favorite Monty Pithon skit, just ahead of the Twit Olympics (Upperclass Twit of the Year).
