When you changed to the Omega driver, did you completely uninstall the previous one, run the driver cleaner, etc?  Still sounds to me like you have a driver issue.  We've explored just about every option imaginable.  Which driver are you using right now?

It says I'm running 77.77 which is the latest xp 64 drivers when I check the device drivers.    The spinning clipboard thing does sounds like a device driver issue to me too but I can't put my finger on what exactly.  I tried turning down the hardward acceleration to disable pieces but that made no difference.

BTW thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

You have the 64 bit OS?  LOL  No wonder.  Did you download the specific driver for 64 bit?  Its different than the standard driver.  Never thought to ask that.  I see it now in your original post but I overlooked it.  Sorry about that.

Alright.  Try this, and if it doesnt work then I dont know what else to try.

Download Driver Cleaner Professional Edition here

http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Download the WHQL certified driver here.

http://www.driverheavendownloads.net/nvidia.htm

Uninstall your current drivers.  Run the driver cleaner program.  Reboot, and when windows looks for video drivers cancel out.  Install the ones you downloaded.  Reboot.  Reinstall Direct X 9.  Reboot.  Delete your video8.cfg folder in the Aces High folder.  Start Aces High.  Setup your video card.  Start the game.

It could very well be something different, but might as well rule it out.  Using the driver cleaner will ensure that all traces of the old drivers are gone.  Reinstalling Direct X after installing the new drivers will ensure that the DX files point to the right places and the right drivers, and that there are no corrupted DX files.

XP Pro 64bit lockup

Rabbidrabbit: Did you try going into the bios and selecting single card ? (not Auto).  I was pulling my hair out with the same thing. I run an sli system also with the same mobo and XP Pro 64 bit and was having no luck with Aces High on sli even though I had loaded a profile with single gpu selected. It would hard lock within a minute or so after starting the game, sometimes immediately. As soon as I selected single card in the bios ( I had tried both the dual card and auto settings ) all lockup problems went away.  I run dual 7800 GTX's but that shouldn't make a difference over the 6800. Let me know if I can help further.

After I posted this I decided to try "auto"  in the bios one more time , started Aces High and it locked up within 30 seconds. Back into the bios, selected "Single Card" ... lockups gone. Now running 4X AA, 16X AF, 1600/1200, 1024 textures and a getting a solid 75 fps. I disabled the reflective water though as that seemed to drag the frames down.  Hope this helps.
