Air enthusiasts at Latvia?
« on: August 08, 2005, 01:51:53 PM »
Two or three of us Finnish aviation history enthusiasts are coming to Riga, Latvia, for 18th to 22nd August to go around in the museums, old town etc.

I wonder if there are any sim or real pilots, history enthusiasts or something that  could come for a beer and maybe to go around with us a bit?

And what are the must things to see at Riga for people who like aviation and history? There's the aviation museum of course, what else?

Hints are ok in boards but I'd appreciate if you could contact me directly (or pass the contact information) if you want arrange a meeting with us at Riga :) Email is jkauppin@jmp.fi

Cheers,
Grendel

The trainer of Spain's aerobatic team is from Vilnius (sp?), I'll ask him and post here what I find out.

Riga is a beautiful city.  People seem very friendly.
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
