Beer and zakuska

I can’t think of English word for this, so I have to use Russian. Zakuska – is usually a small snack that is eaten with alcohol. So I wonder what kind of snacks people eat with beer.

English would be simply "bar snacks"; and would generally be pre packed foods bought over the bar such as peanuts and potatoe chips.

However; the Spanish have a tradition of something called "tapas" (google it); which are very small dishes usually supplied free with every; or at least every other alcoholic drink.

Like most non-Spaniards; I think Spanish cooking; on the whole; fairly ropey; but Tapas are glorious; and I generally try to survive purely on Tapas in spain rather than go to a "proper" restaurant.

(Side note: English cooking has historicaly been so awfull that we've had to change our cuisine; and these days; eating out in England is as good as anywhere in the world. Other nations; which haven't had such an awfull reputation haven't seen "the need" to upgrade their kitchens (such as Spain); and consequently you get horrid stuff such as rabbit head stew or chickens feet soup which we english stopped eating a 100 yars ago).

And if I'm at Los Vaqueros (local mexican joint in the back of gas station, you gotta try it to understand), Camarones Rellenos.  Fresh giant shrimp, stuffed with smoked gouda, wrapped in bacon, deep fried, served with chipotle mayo, fresh guacamole, and shredded cabbage.

I could go for some wings right now.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

People have mentioned most of the obvious ones, but one of my lesser known favorites is the deep fried pickle (dill).  Yummy.
