Just buy some carbide at the hardware store, pour it in the holes. Add some water. The carbide will excrete acetylene. Wait a minute, then chuck a match in the first hole.

I'm quite fond of the 'Mole-Skewer 3000'---has 4 sharp prongs that shoot into ground when mole tries to dig out partially collapsed tunnel--quite satisfying
