Last night on live TV they showed a Navy C-2 Greyhound "COD" do an emergency landing at Chambers Field NS Norfolk. Apparently the gear would not come down. They circles for 2 hours burning off excess fuel, put the tailhook down and brought it in for a pretty smooth looking belly landing. It cought the field's arresting wire and stopped in about 100 feet. all 25 passengers and crewmen were uninjured and the plane took very little damage. Wouldn't doubt it's up and flying again in a few months.
to the Pilot on an outstanding landing.
And we all saw it live on TV...glad it didn't go bad.

I logged about 1,300 hours in C1-A and C2-A CODs (flying Crew Chief). Extremely rugged and robust aircraft. I had a few adventures, but they only served to increase my confidence in the products of the "Ironworks".
