I remember being a real young kid...maybe 4 ot 5 years old and watching brand new star trek episodes with my older brother.  It was cool....of course at that time space was really a new frontier.  Very exciting back then.  Not sure what it is today....a business?

I remember my mom had a nimoy album, the one with "highly illiogical" and "ballad of Bilbo baggins" -- she used to play it al the time (or was it me -- i fear to remember). This thread now has inserted a deadly ear worm -- "Bilbo, Bilbo baggins -- only 3 feet taaaalllll. Bilbo, Bilbo Baggins, bravest little hobbit of them aaaall..."

Here’s another classic, if you like some variety. Personal favorites indicated by “*”:

*Proud Mary - Leonard Nimoy
*It Ain't Me Babe - Sebastian Cabot
*Blowin' in the Wind - Eddie Albert
*Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds - William Shatner
Whiter Shade of Pale - Noel Harrison
I Can See for Miles - Frankie Randall
*Try a Little Tenderness - Jack Webb
Twist and Shout - Mae West
House of the Rising Sun - Andy Griffith
*Mr. Tambourine Man - William Shatner
You Are the Sunshine of My Life - Jim Nabors
*Like a Rolling Stone - Sebastian Cabot
White Room - Joel Grey
*If I Had a Hammer - Leonard Nimoy

You can hear samples here :): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000032C1/002-6691812-0774461?v=glance

Try a Little Tenderness brings a tear to the eye.

Isnt there some radio program in syndication (NPR???), where the whole goal is to find and play really bad music? I remember hearing the guy say that he doesnt even bother with Shatner cuts, except for old times sake -- because they're just so bad, so easy to mock that there's no professional challenge in picking them up.

Whoa, when I listened to those samples I was sure Kirk and Spock had stumbled under the influence of those happy-spores again.

Gotta give a nod to Frankie Randall's pipes though - he sounds a little Sinatra-like on his number.

They all pale compared to the sheer emotion and nuance of Jack Webb :)
