Im saddened reading this thread. It has disolved a great many friendships... Like Todds and mine. Before this we were great friends. Hung out, played catch, had beers together. Then together we ruined the face of Aces High as the community knew it. Its his fault... No its not its my own... You see the seed of hatred that has spawned
No longer will a man be able to land kills and not be questioned. No longer will a BK be able to log on and feel the respect once felt in days past. Its a sad day for a BK. Its a sad day for Aces High as a whole. A score potato can no longer walk the sacred earth of low rankage as he once did in days gone by. A BK can no longer walk the sacred earth with the respect he once felt from the community of pixxel names in the upper right corner of the screen. Nor will he recieve the fuax he once received just for being there to add suport.

Its a sad day indeed.

However......

What did a 10 kill sortie mean to you 3 years ago? Really? Put the fast tounge aside for two minutes..... Did it mean anything?

Of course it did. It did and still does for me to this day. So how does this kind of crap affect that? Not at all? Mabye to you it doesnt. For many it means the world to them in terms of thier hobby.....this game. There is absolutly nothing wrong with putting time and effort into this game to reach personal goals.....what ever those goals may be. Who are you to judge or condem anothers goals? If player X's goals are different than yours is it ok to then piss on them?

You are a top notch player. Looked up to and admired by many. Do you honestly believe that your actions have no affects on others?

Explain to me why it is "Cool" to not care about this game that we all have so much time (and money) invested in?

"Cartoon airplanes" eh? I dont want to play a cartoon airplane game. I want to play a WWII combat simulator. Your (and others) actions are what make it into a cartoon airplane game. Now I am well aware that the ones who really do this kind of thing for score are far more to blame than anyone. However, How is this thing you fellas did helping in any way? Its not. Its just making an even larger mockery of the game.

I dunno man..... I just dont like it. I think you should show more respect for other players and this game. It takes the "Player X landed XXX kills" and turnes it into nothing.

lazerr of course i am referring to the "vulching" when squaddies switch sides and give each other unearned kills....proxies or vulches., you have understood perfectly what i mean

they are just trying to deflect the attention...anyone reading this thread knows what i mean.

true vulching is just part of the game...no problem with that

but as todd says..he did it to increase the number of kils they landed...and he did it with friends on other countries purposefully ending so he would get proxies

i dont even really have a problem with what they did....its just another damn bug the game has....i just have a problem with them again tryign to justify it as if it was a good thing to do. childish behavior a best...

hitech can fix this....jump countries...lose score...easy
also whats with staying in squad when you jump countries???

You do realize that this wouldn't have stopped us from doing what we did for kicks... right? If anything, removing my score would remove one barrier to wanting to do it at all, which is the fear that I would seriously screw with the stats for others who are playing seriously.

Of course, you still fail to grasp that this isn't really about rank, or score, or stats, or anything of that sort. For some it surely is, but that was not the motivation in this case. Must I keep repeating that for you until you begin to understand?

i will say i "believe" that you did it for fun and not to rank high if...

you say that you get that your goofy fun may interfere with others joy in playing the game and quit defending it like a high school kid egging a house....

grow up guys...find another game where you can screw around....mebbe tribes or everquest...if not... then treat our community with some respect and not as your personal playground

You know I love ya, Dave. But I don't buy the "cheapens" thing. It only cheapens legitimate kills if people believe that I honestly obtained 131 kills in a P-40B when I had, in fact, gamed the system to do it. Since I freely admitted what I had done seconds after the fact, and since I was more than willing to discuss the reasons for it and how I had accomplished it, and since it has no effect on rank or stats or anything else since it involved ground vehicle kills in fighter mode, then I fail to see how it cheapens anything.

Too many people are wound too tightly in this game. It was a bit of absurdist parody meant to be both unbelievable and yet it had just a hint of, "Well, you know... maybe because it was him... but... no way." I'm not surprised that so many people are miffed here, but I'm not sure they even know why they're so upset. Yours are the best I've seen, and I respect that, but I don't agree with it.

but i dont like second accounters and folks who run up kills with "friends"

and me thinking you guys are wrong really doesnt demonstrate anything but that i have an opinion

so no you have no influence with me ... but neither do a lot of folks who screw aroound with good people..i still think they are wrong too btw
