Indeed I do Jeff.  However dont be fooled into thinking that there is only one way to view such an occurrence or set of circumstances.  Step out of your shoes for a moment and into anothers.

Despite 6 pages of this, the point we're trying to make is still not evident to certain persons, so I will attempt to make it painfully clear.

Many of the high kill sorties you see landed in the MA aren't due to amazing "skills", or hard "work"; they're either the result of extremely timid flying, or vulching. They're not earned in the thick of a raging furball, or against frightening odds. They are racked up by a small percentage of the MA who pretty much specialize in that type of flying. By landing far more kills than they typically do, and by choosing someone with some modicum of "skill" to do so, we have made a parody of 2 things. A) score padding vulchers/pickers, who don't fly for the fun of it, so much as rank and the WTGs, and B) the guys who set up a patsy or second account to rack up kills, ostensibly from risky flying in bad odds, but really just to get the WTGs.

After realizing the possible repercussions of too many bomber kills (the aforementioned porking of the kills stats, ty Zazen), we chose highly improbable, nonscoring, and very easy to track and separate GV "kills".

I don't know why I've wasted all this time posting, because those most upset, and whom I keep trying to calm down so they can see the humor in the situation, will read this and probably still be too thick to get it. We didn't change anything in the ranking (aside from Todd and I both took hits in a few stat categories -no gains of which I'm aware), we didn't rob anyone of their chance to appear on the homepage. ( A few of those guys are good guys, and fun to fly with. The others are timid, uptight, whiny dweebs). We won't cause the p40b or spitV to be highly perked. We won't soil the memories of those intrepid souls who've landed 30, 40, 50, or 100 kill sorties, because they were flying more timidly, and with more emphasis on ranking and scoring than we ever could. After landing or making many of his "kills" (caught off guard a few times and killed mid-milkrun), Lev immediately started "boasting" of how he'd gotten so many kills in such short time, letting anyone who'd listen know that they weren't "valid" kills, but just a stunt. If anything, the logic-defying number of kills will hopefully cause others to look with some skepticism at the 15, 20, and 30 kill sorties which now earn such praise, but in reality are just as pathetic and boring as flying around collecting proxies (as an aside, many of those kills are basically the same- a patsy account, or someone willing to sacrifice a 'rank' to help someone else look like a hero. the others, for the most part, are just vulching. Anyone can land 20 vulches in a Chog. Try it.). Instead of prancing around, graciously extending our thanks to our adoring crowds, we've attempted to make a mockery out of the scoring system in an aircombat game that rewards pretty much everything but fighting.

Falc, you surprise me. I figured you for a fairly intelligent fellow; I just can't understand how you can draw so many parallels between a game and real life, while missing the obvious.
Sure, you've been around for years. So have we. For you to assume that we're somehow lacking, depraved, or immature,  but that you somehow represent some ideal to which we should all aspire, because of an arbitrary standard for behavior that you set, really only illustrates the extent to which you're self-absorbed, and displays a fundamental lack of respect for anyone who's opinion might differ from yours.

BTW Lazer, yeah, deliberately vulching a squaddie/teammate/second account soley to improve rank/stats/ earn praise is lame. Not cheating, and not against any formal rules, but still lame.

Great setup, BTW. I didn't think you'd be able to top the KS-off episode, but you've pleasantly surprised me. :aok You've made the game much more enjoyable for me, and I thank you.

Hey dweeble... I have had many 10-20 kill sorties that didn't involve vulching, and just a lot of laying the smack down.

But ya, if you fly anything but p38, and land a large amount of kills, your right, its probably BS.  ;)

That's sig material right there. :lol

The funniest line so far was the thought that when we are on different chesspeices killing each other that in reality we are giving out tactical information on misshuns and hidden CVs. They must know that winning the war is our #1 goal in life!:rofl

hehehe...if anyone has been hooked i think it is the megaposters blue knitwits...lmao!!!!

of course i could care less about whether or not you guys got a squaddie a ludicrouos number of kills....hehehe....that you did it as a lampoon of all those "terrible terrible" pilots who prefer to play the game with as few deaths as possible and use rank as a measure of gain/loss is pathetic and seems remrkably judgemental.  i just like to point out the obvious to the oblivious.

But i think morpheus summed it up iin his earlier post...you guys are a bitter group who burnt out the fun of the game years ago...and instead you have appointed yourselves as our elders who can tell us what the game is about and what constitutes fun for all.  In Real life i have never considered making fun of someone who doesnt do things as i do them....i give the same consideration in here. My goodness 3000--5000 posts apiece in this group??? and every other post in most bb strings??? i tihk we know who the bored guys are in here.

but your idiotic replies have given me much joy...please keep it up!!!

and if you cant see the irony in your consistent posts thruout the bulletin board that if you dont fly the game as a cartoon fiter sim and you must only fly buffs at 25k and hit only certain strats...as a way of trying to TELL people what the RIGHT and WRONG way to fly is...then there is no hope for the 11th grade class on Conn.

BTW my fav post i think is morpheus' idiotic rant against low level buffers who kill cvs!!!!! LMAO....yeah morpheus "mr real life"  how many cvs captured bases in ww2??? and how many cvs had puffy ack that nailed you from 5k away????  hehehehe...priceless.

PWND!!!
Sincerely,
Falcon "L33T" Wing:rofl

I was one of those who were online when the text buffer came across with the 131 kills in a P40B but it did not and does not state what type of kills you had.  It didn't bother me but it did make me believe that you were just padding your score, which to me is very childish.  I do NOT monitor channel 200 for obvious reasons.  Had I have been privy to the fact that they were all proxy kills I too would have laughed and probably spewed some brew all over my monitor.  There are many who play the game to play the game and not engage in the BS trash talking that has previously haunted the radio channels and just don't monitor the trash channel.  I did not get upset that night and did not get on channel 200 and say anything.  I wouldn't have bothered with it any further until I saw it brought up in the message boards.  In fact, I would just have continued on with my game thinking that the BK's get their kills by vultching themselves or second accounts to get perks to fly perk planes and just thought they were a bunch of kids acting like kids.  In retrospect I guess I just swallowed the hook.  Now just unhook me and throw me back.

All the Best...

Here is the point that you are missing..... Isnt landing kills part of gameplay? Mabye not for you..... but for others it is.

Try to remember the game for you when it was fresh and new. Wasnt landing kills an important part of the game? If its an important part of the game isnt it gameplay?

Seriously... "Walk a mile in......"

OK speaking of walking a mile...  Dude you assume i don't like to land kills.  Why??  I love to land kills after winning a nice 3 v 1 or more, after fighting my way out of a nasty furball alone or with a sqdy or two.  No one said landing kills was a bad thing.  If I land a bunch of kills that were vulches and anyone gives me the WTG, I thank them and admit they were skill less vulches.  I don't fly safe or at 20k so as to rack up these kills, that takes about as much skill as vulching.

The efforts that surrounded this post were in jest at best.  It certainly has highlighted some guys that take this game way to seriously and should go get laid, come back and have some fun.

Sure I can appreciate guys that have to be the best AH pilot known to man and boy alike, and have the admiration of all those that come before them.  But can't they also have a sense of humor too?

please read the posts carefully...

the BK's were using buffs as proxies until the last run....they did count towards score and they DID affect others ability to compete.

my guess is 40+ b17 proxie kills helps kills/hr  kills/sortie.  or did that not affect your score either todd/leviatin?

Here is a wierd idea....3 pages ago say "hey it was a goof...we didnt mean to hurt anyone...we wont be doing it again...sorry if we did...."  INSTEAD OF  "other people suck...you take the game too seriously....we didnt do anything wrong..the game sucks anyway etc"

then we end this discussion days ago.
