Last evening Doom was for few min. on game for chat ,maybe he has limited time acces to internet.
He ussed to live in New Orleans with his family and kids and was evacuated only saturday.
Do you guys think a small donation for him from game players is a bad idea?

how bout if HT opened up at paypal thing for donations to go towards NO relief fund...after a week or two, he sends it to red cross or some such?

Would be nice but--we tried that on a website I frequent--we raised 20K in 2 days....and Paypal locked the account. Said we had "suspicious buyers" though of course nothing was for sale. Many contributors are now having problems getting their donations back from Paypal. Paypal sucks hard.

If I was going to donate, I'd rather see a check written to Doom only. This stuff of sending it to the red cross or other charities is no good IMO, no one really sees anything after these crooks line there pockets, for all their expences?

Just like every other situation, (911 you name it) it never gets to who needs it, scam artist, low lifes, theives only benefit from this. Sad but those that should get the help (money) never receive or apply for the help.

Maybe about 25 cents per dollar goes to whats really needed, (if even 25 cents makes it, prob less).

You get Dooms name and a mailing address (maybe a relatives address that can forward it to him, and have people write the check/money order/cashiers/ gift card from a store etc.. in dooms name or a relatives name that doom trusts if he has no way to cash checks, the relative can forward the cash to him in a debit card or something........

If Doom is in need of help, I'm good for something. Just want to see it go into his hand ! " all of it! ", not a percentage after the "expences" are removed by the so called "charities"

Not good to see 10.00 20.00 25.00 30.00 dollars turn into 2.00 3.00 4.25 5.50 or less after "expences?"

He's absolutely right. I am an old ex-squaddie of Donnie (DOOM) and the problem is HOW is any assistance going to get to him and his family? He has been relocated by evacuation and probably doesn't have a stable connection. I've donated to the relief fund but I'll sure donate to a friend if and only if I can be assured that it will go to him and not a bunch of overhead. Heck I used to donate for years to the United way until I saw how little was dispatched and how FAT the management got on it. Find me a verifiable addy for Doom and I'll send a personal check.

i called HTC yesterday, they said is possible to transfer $ from my credit card to Doom's credit card acount, through them, wich is better and safer imop then PayPall. But i hope he pays the game with his card,

That's a good idea but wouldn't it be better to pay his HTC bill directly? I mean the CC companies take a cut from every transaction, we should bypass them where possible.
