Though I always did want a biggie sized Rubicon. I love my jeep, but hauling around 3 other people is always tight.

At 15 MPH? What a piece of junk! A 15 MPH impact is barely even a jolt. If it wasn't poorly designed and if they had real bumpers all that would have happened is the smaller Jeep would have been pushed and the owners wouldn't be looking at completely wrecked vehicles..maybe some bent up bumpers and sheet metal damage at worst. That damage on the Xterra looks considerably worse than my Cadillac after I rammed another car at 45 MPH--three times the speed!

I've seen both types of those vehicles in higher speed crashes before. They simply don't hold up well.

Today's vehicles are not designed to survive a crash. They're designed to channel energy around the occupants.

A 15 MPH crash with no brakes is still pretty hard. Hell, a delta-V of 25 will put you in the hospital and a delta-v of 35 will probably kill you.

yea what some of you don't realize is she didn't see the jeep because of the sun. She wasn't slowing down at all she was accelorating. The fact that their 2 week old son in his car seat didn't even wake up is a testiment to the safety of the vehicle. Screw the fact that it's totaled no one in the car (especially the kids) was hurt.

My dad had a 72 TBird parked in our driveway when one night a drunken 1st grade teacher in her suzuki samurai came tearing around a left hand corner across our front yard in into the back of the tbird. Her samurai then went went almost into the house across the street, then went about 200 yards down to the park in the middle of this subdivision before dying/running out of momentum

My dads tbird rear end was pushed about a foot to the side and had a small dent near the taillights. The samurai was totalled.

Really sucks that it was people you know.

You might be able to get a great deal on a 2005 4 banger wragler, since the 06 models are now coming in.

Was at a dealer today and they were talking about how jeeps are not selling cause of gas prices soo you can prolly get them to come down lots.

You going to do another jeep for sure?

yes but I will NOT get a 4 banger....they just don't have the hill power.

The problem is with the new mustang, the move, and the new house coming up I cannot afford another car payment.

I saw a nice 95 wrangler with all the fixens today for $5200 but it was a 4cyl and I will NOT get one. I'm also considering a cherokee. The jeep gets towed tomorrow so I will find out what the adjuster says then.

I have seen some 97s around that are down under 8, but with the I6.

I agree about the 4 banger not being great, but my 2000 was ok, but wouldnt do more then 65 with 31s on it if you used 5th.

Saburo, that thing has zero-degree turning as well. Meaning at the flick of a lever the wheels can rotate to an oblique angle to turn the beast in a full circle either way.
