I got a call from Grocer's Supply today. They are the largest independant grocery supplier in Texas. They are locking down their central warehouse and sending most of their trucks to Dallas thursday. May be the last delivery for a while if Houston takes a hit. Lots of small towns across Texas may not get any food until they reopen.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Hey Beet, I read that the brit newspaper authors who are writing about the New Orleans debacle are actually enjoying our suffering.  What's your take on that?

I have 2 cousins each of them live right by the beach in Galveston, they both have been through a few hurricanes, they have already packed there stuff up and are currently staying with me in fort worth lol They said that if that storm is 1/2 as bad as people are predicting there houses are toast. Just watching the news and the traffic is sooo bad coming out of galveston and houston area.

Would luv to come down to Austin, I probably go down there once a month or so just to party on 6th street. We usually stay at the holliday inn in round rock, its a lil cheaper than finding a place right by 6th street. Its only about a 3 hr drive from where I live, sometime 2.5 depending on traffic, we only stay the night because everybody gets a lil too drunk to drive home... But yeah I come down there every now and then, I can't get enough of the clubs / women in the clubs lol

My brother-in-law and his family (and pets) just arrived this morning after leaving Lake Jackson (Galveston area for non-Texans) about 6:00PM yesterday. They took off east and came up through east texas on back roads until they hit I30.

Bedford, where I live is in the DFW area.

Beet, the report itself is not important.  I'm just wondering if you got the same impression from the media coverage there.

Took my 3 car convoy 17 hours and alot of back roads to get from Houston (katy area) to Dallas yesterday. Left at 3am. 9 hours to Conroe, caught the contraflow as it opened, covered alot of ground fast, then it slammed to a halt again. Backroaded it for the rest of the way. Never had a problem finding gas once we were outside of Houston. People are just too stubborn to leave I-45. All the small towns were great.

Now I'm stuck in Grapevine until Monday, possibly Wednesday with absolutely nothing to do...
