I thought drive-in's were extinct

haven't seen any less traffic round Houston but have noticed more motorcyles and seen a few speed-bumps...errr mopeds too.

Why would anyone want a Prius? Any small turbo Diesel car is as economical in average driving and even more economical on the highway, while the price is much lower.

It is a nice car though, I had the pleasure to be part of the team that took this particular example to pieces(To utililize the engine, drivetrain and some other parts in a research vehicle):

On the way home yesterday from shooting out at my brothers.... a late model lowered vette come up on me fairly fast.... I was cruising at about 80mph..

I waited till he was about to move to get around me then got in the other lane and let him by.... soon as his bumper cleared I downshifted into 5th and punched it and moved back behind him... saw the telltale puffs from his exhaust... waited till he got a few cars ahead and then punched it and got on his bumper again... we did that a few more times.... never getting over 110 or 120... safe and sane... he had to turn off so he pulled over... big smile and a wave from him.

I have owned myself a 74 LT camaro(black with the old keystone mags), an el-camino(I think if they brought that back it would sell), 73 or 74(I forget) cutlass "S"(had the nice steering wheel and swivel buckets stock, I totalled it) and a 70 dodge superbee(still had the original plum crazy purple paint)

There car I want is a 77 vette, but economics and practicality state otherwise. Someday.

I rented a Dodge Caravan a few weeks ago...it was great.

I could fit the entire family, my friends and even their dog in the thing. It was one of the "deluxe" jobs with really nice captain style seats...felt like I was flying a 747 driving it.

Of course I couldn't take on ramps sideways in it or anything...but it was fantastic for getting everyone around the city.

If you enjoyed that Caravan (I've driven them too, my sis has a 2005 DC) you should try the Chrysler Pacifica. It has alot more to the visual style than the "boxy" minivan, as much room too. We had 7 people in it when we went to the St.Paul Saints baseball game this past summer. Good, strong, high torque V6 engine at 20 mpg avg (city/highway driving) was impressive. I thought for sure my wife was going to buy one after we drove this car for a week, but she had other plans for a midlife crisis car...
The backseat area was the most impressive, the 3-seat rear folded down to give you lots of cargo room while still allowing for 4 passengers overall, or a quick convert to allow 7. Backseat passengers had their own center arm rest console in separate climate control for the back seat. Interior was ergonomically perfect from a driver/passenger point of view.

It also had the option of a AWD model for those colder climate types who get lots of snow.
