Freeze/Crash when shooting

Hello. When my bullets hit another plane my game freezes then my system crashes.

Is this common and can it be resolved?

Not much can be done here.  The VIA video chip is not the most stellar performer around.  Set the maximum texture size to 128 in the video setup for the game.
