cnn home page

i go to look at the news and what do i see

40k plus die in quake, another "police beating an african american" case, army needs more troops which screams draft to me, and bird flu is going to kill us all. How about something like a "3 year old saved by puppy" headline? ahh what a wonderful world :aok

DMF.... with one notable exception...

If a citizen makes a bad guy bleed using a firearm it is seldom reported much less a "lead".

"why never any good news? "

Bad news gets better ratings, simple as that.

Unfortinately for us, our news media is a business and isn't actually interested in reporting all the news, only news that sells well.

Bah, I can't edit my spelling error up there.  It's the little things which bother me.

Human nature...

If you had a party and somebody threw up on your carpet, and another person helped you clean it up. Years from now you will always remember the person who threw up, but you probably couldn't remember who helped you clean it up.

Yep. Good news travels fast, but not far.

I know how you feel.

I'm looking forward to the new 'SOS Coastguard' show on discovery tonight.  hoping it might be a chance to see some positive outcomes and maybe even a chance to see someone who is actually worthy of some respect showing up on the TV for a change.
