I was at the local wal-mart today and seen these planes.

They had a Me-262,190-D,P-47,Bf-109-E,and a P-51.

I picked up the Limited edition 343rd Fighter SQuadron P-51 for my son.

The 14./JG26 190-D i picked up for myself.

Pretty cool suff if ya have desk top models and such.

All planes are 1:18 scale

neat stuff, how big are they? i don't know what 1:32 means because i'm a tard

1 unit of measurement on the model = 32 on the real thing.

so 1cm = 32cm on real thing.

I've seen those, but they are huge! They won't fit on most normal shelves, I don't know where you'd store them. Just a guesstimate, but the FW-190D I saw at Wal-mart the other day, had a wingspan that had to be at least 2 feet.

Now, if you could buy them as toys "for the kids..." - (after all, they are in the toy department...) then how could your wife complain? THen of course, you could take them up once in a while for cat-buzzing missions....

I think theyre bigger than 1:32, the P-38 is about half again as big as the 1:32 droopsnoot I have.

I measured the 190s wingspan and its 12 inches.

My wife left me in the isle by myself when i started climbing the shelves
after the 109-E-4 night fighter.

I have a few of these things, P51, 109, JU87, P38, F4U

Now, the box says they are all 1:18 scale, but there is a major difference in the scaling of the pilots and cockpits. If you take the P-51 or 109 pilots and put them aside the Ju87, P38, F4U pilots, they look like children in comparison. I wrote 21st Century and thy said the scaling is correct... HA

Also, These things are not toys, even though they are sold as such. The quality of plastic and final construction is very poor. It would be WAY to easy to break these if they were played with.

Now that I have them, I really think they aren't worth having. They are too big to put on a normal shelf and are horrible dust collectors.

I dont know midnight,my 6 year old son flew the plane pretty much all
day.He made several well cordinated Jabo attacks on the cat.Vulched
barbie in her Corvette.Take it out of the box and check it out,you'll see that they are rather durable toys.Nothing like i had when i was growing up,But
then again i havnt grown up yet.

Its amazing how they are using pilot names of the not so popular aces.
Wal-Mart has smaller scale P-38 silver in color with a picture of a woman
that looks exactly like Dick Bongs wife.But yet it doesnt have his name on the plane anywhere,it even has 40 rising sun flags on the fuelselage.

At our local WallyWorld, they have the same models in both 1:32, and 1:18 scale. Yes, the wingspan of the the 1:32 models is about 12 inches - I've got a few of those myself. The 1:18 models are twice the size. Look for the BIG boxes a few shelves higher....
