The 1:18 scale models are too big. They are far too large to fit on a shelf or such and they are too big for kids to really be able to zoom them around and play with them. Do yourself a favor.... stay away from the big ones!

The 1:32 scale toys are an entirely different ball game! THEY ROCK! I have a 6 1/2 year old son and he is now a fighter pilot! I am so proud!

We have the ME-109E, the FW-190D and the P-47. The 190D is awesome, we got it in accurate JV-44 colors complete with the red and white striped bottom side. The P-47 has bombs and rockets. All planes have retractable landing gear and opening canopies and pilots that come in and out. The 109E also has flaps that work, all planes have props that spin. We will be getting the P40 and P51 soon.

These are great toys. They have proven durable, they are the right size for a kid to zoom them around and.... well, im not sure who plays with them more, me or the kid!

Fangoi i'm in the same place as you.I have a 6 1/2 year old that has mastered flight in his Me-262.All the ones i have found have a special paint scheme on them.The 262 is "white 5 "The P-51 is Miss Marilyn,the 47 is glenn Eagleston,the 109 is JG26.

I am in the process of making a 1:32 scale AH airfield for the boy too play with them all on.Just wish they had these things when i was his age.

If your into the 21st Century 1:18 scale models stay away from their P-51. The guys at Badcat Toys told me that the P-51 model was their first 1:18 scale model. Its not very well done compared to their others and from what I can tell they havent fixed it any.

BBI makes a really nice P-51 that is much more detailed. I have both a 21st Century P-51 and BBI P-51. There really is no comparison between the two other than the P-51 profile.

I saw the jug. It looked very nice but too big. I preffer the 1/48 scale revel models. When put together properly they look awesome and they don't take up as much room.

That Rall's 1:18 G-6 looks cool. Is it me, a fish-eye lens the photo was taken with or an error in the model why those wings look like they have no dihedral at all or even negative dihedral? I'm leaning towards the lens though...at least I hope it is the lens. It can be spotted best from Graf's G-6. It really makes most of those models look pretty weird. Does anyone have the G-6 how does it look? Any pics?

Watch out with those models. I've seen a Corgi 1:32 metal Spitfire MkI (famous "Grumpy" model) with no dihedral at all. Those wings looked like Hurricane's wings. It was awful. Corgi's 109G-6 (at least the Barkhorn' one) are very well done tho, IMHO.

Be really carefull when picking out the 21st cent stuff. The negative dihedral is probably NOT fisheye. You have to go through the boxes and be selective, dont know why but the quality control on their work is not the greatest. That said, if you find a good quality one it is great for the price ($15 for 1/32 and $30 for 1/18)

I have Clarance Anderson's P-51D Old Crow from GMP Diecast. It is very well done and has great detail. Although the cost is greater than what you gents are discussing, it seems to me that it has more detail than the 21st Century stuff. Definately more a accurate P-51D. If you ignore the darn ariel which wasn't on actual WWII birds in the ETO.

I agree on the details everyone has said,but it takes a little common sense.

You get what you pay for.

At the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum gift shop in Dayton,Ohio they have die cast replica's that exceed 250$.The detail of them is of the highest quality.I wanted something i could hang over my desk and for the kids to play with.The detailing of these planes is what i expected to pay for them being plastic and all.
