I'm going to really drive you nuts.  I have no choice but to completely harass you about your split infinitive issues.  I want you to clearly understand how silly it is to unjustifiably hate split infinitives.  I think you should be forced to laboriously write over and over "to bodly go where no man has gone before" so as to quickly elimiate your predjudice.

:rofl

Never quite understood why this would bother anyone.  So what?

Does it bother you because some old woman once told you not to do it so now you are acting like an old lady yourself.

Why should I care where someone places their elbows, as long as they arent in my plate?

Split infinitives? This has to be a joke. Anybody pompous enough to have issue with split infinitives died almost 200 years ago.

By the way, isn't  "I allready know" a split infinitive?

But I agree, eating with elbows on the table is rude.

So... for those of you who were wondering. (I know I was.)

From the  AskOxford Frequently Asked Questions:
Quote

What is a split infinitive, and why should I avoid using one?

This is a split infinitive:

To boldly go where no man has gone before!

The infinitive is to go, and it has been 'split' by the adverb boldly. Split infinitives have been the cause of much controversy among teachers and grammarians, but the notion that they are ungrammatical is simply a myth: in his famous book Modern English Usage, Henry Fowler listed them among 'superstitions'!

Split infinitives are frequently poor style, but they are not strictly bad grammar. In the example above, to avoid the split infinitive would result either in weakness (to go boldly) or over-formality (boldly to go): either would ruin the rhythmic force and rhetorical pattern of the original. It is probably good practice to avoid split infinitives in formal writing, but clumsy attempts to avoid them simply by shuffling adverbs about can create far worse sentences.

My personal pet peeve... the improper use of the apostrophe.

Negative Suave, infinitive's always begin with "to".  To already know is the greatest lie.
