Mustaine did a nice job of exploring some of the major issues. For many of the more experienced players, the challenge of mastering the gameplay is gone. You either fly to be with your squadies, or to "listen" to the Ch. 200 talk. It's different for a relative newbie like me (6 mos.) but even I have limited tollerance for smack talk from endless low alt furballers.However, like many, I enjoy the community of those fascinated with WWII aircraft & air combat. This geek circus is a close as you can get to an odd world like ballroom dancing without actually having to move your feet.

instead of an o'club in AH you need an over 50's club..

where you can go to talk about how fun should be banned and discuss the good ol' days of AH before the youth of today spoilt everything....

may i suggest channel 250 on text for it?

Like any pro sports team, the players come and the players go.  Often, the character of the game changes with those natural evolutions.

Our squad enjoys a wide variety of the game, and we play all aspects (to some, this makes us Tool Shedders)

You can find us in furballing in fighters, bombing strats, attacking and capturing bases, and hanging around spawn points.  No leaf unturned.

For squad nights, we focus on base capture - something we still believe to be the essence of the game.   "The Rooks have won the war."

What I find disconcerting is the intolerance.  I am not sure what to attribute that to, but if someone doesn't play exactly your style, you will find posts denigrating them.

Our squad has went through a few of these. I can say that a few havent worked out. But without a doubt we have some TEEN's in our squad that would rival many adults in attitude and maturity. Nirvana, Marco, and TheBest1 are all teens and all fun to fly with.

If more squads would take in these guys and show them how to act then maybe this teen problem you speak of would lessen. I do understand tho that it wouldnt go away, some are just too immature to even approach.

No it isnt our jobs to teach but if more people would take the time the community would be better in whole.

Now you have few squads devoted to furballing alone, and you have many more squads that specialize in ground vehicles, base attack and capture, or whatever.  It's much more difficult to form friendly rivalries between squads that don't do the same sorts of things or view the game in the same sort of way.  That's unfortunate.

Yeah, and now we have a squad that now devotes it's entire resources into trolling the BBS.  You have the nerve to complain about the lack of gameplay and have done so much damage to the AH community via the BBS and the open channel.  What a laugh.  You BK's were once respected for your skill, now the skill doesn't have any meaning for a lot of us, only contempt when we see your smiling BK faces.  Ya know that BK guy on the commercials really freaks me out. roflol

Yeppers, but make it over 25 club, folks like you represent the under 25 club as most have grown up and don't act like you and your squad when they are over 19 but we can make exceptions.  Most adults equate fun as being an activity that is enjoyable to others and not at the expence of a lot of others.  I guess us older farts matured much younger than your generation huh Gilligan?

to add it is amazing how different you look at someone after you meet themin person @ one of the CON's. i think i have a good relationship with all the guys i met at them, and enjoy knowing them. i think that personal connection is something that really changes your view on the game.

That is so true Mustaine. I tend not to get involved in the BB nonsense, but have been guilty of it I am sure. I have to say attending a couple of con’s really changed my perspective on many players. Many just love to push peoples buttons, but meet them in person and many will take their shirt off their back for you. Unfortunately the numbers that attend the cons represent a very small part of the community, but in a way they do represent part of the core community. No doubt burnout is prevalent and will remain till we start getting new AC every three months as we did years ago.

I miss those years.
