Anyone here use 190F-8 for jabo?
« on: October 23, 2005, 01:33:22 AM »
Anyone?

i think the rockets are too small but kinda accurate.  Speed penalty is present because of the bomb racks.  I wonder what's gonna be the speed lost for typhoons and F4Us armed with rocket/bomb racks.

Those rockets on Fw190F8, are panzer blitz, armor piercing not high explosive like all other rkts in game,
Try them on gvs, hard to hit but deadly

panzer blitz is an improved panzershreck if I remember well.

190F8 should have special armor on the front to sustain ground fire also.

I prefer to use A8 instead. Same big bomb and those 50kgs are not worth those snapping weak wings.

I saw the wing spar for an FW 190F-8 at the White One Foundation's restoration facility in Kissimee Florida.  the wing spar on the FW190 is an I-beam that is 6" x 6" x 1/2 structural aluminum.  it runs the full lenght of the wing.  there was no way an FW190 would shear a wing off.  I have never experienced breaking a wing on a 190 in the game.  If it occurs then perhaps that may be the easiest way to represent catastrophic structural failure in the model.

The A8 is the better ground attack version in this game, owing to the carnage the guns can deliver on town buildings and ack emplacements.  Plus those four .20mms and two 17mm can do a very nice vulch job on upping fighters.

I snapped them both off on a D9. I have no idea on how each of the 190s' are built in respect to each of the variations. But they snapped like a toothpick. There was alot of talk about d9 wings snapping though back when that happened to me.

I like the F8, also it has rockets for GV's and oh yes, vulching! Then a crap load of 20mm.

F8 is almost useless because of weak wings. You cant dive, you cant pull any G, tried couple of times but it is totally crap...

It was better before new model.

Can i have what you're smoking???;)  I can still pull decent Gs in 190s  Of course re-modeled planes will have some sort of G tolerance structure limits.  This is not only in FW,  i suspect that Spit 9/14 and Mustangs have less G tolerance for wings.

Umm what are you smoking 1k3 I've never snapped wings in anything except LW planes.

The frontal armor does work though, I shot an f8 dead center in the engine block with a field gun and it didn't seem to get damage.

I agree. Flew it in the CT once just to say I got kills in a F8.

Mustang snaps it's wings very easily.  Me262 is the only other fighter I recall having any easy time of it,

yup on the P51, that's another ride that should not snap wings.
