It looks real good, all the Spitfires do. What is next Seafire Mk III? Or Spitfire LF.VIII?

Congrats to the modeler and skinner...

I hate invasion stripes.  I hate invasion stripes with a passion.

Btw, the Pink Spit 9 and the Blue Spit 5 better be the first planes skinned.

Now I will just hold on and hope for a Spitfire LF.Mk VIII so that I'll be able to fly a "real" Spit with good performance.

Wondering how many bottles of scotch it would take to get HT to model the Mk XII. If all us spit fans chip in who knows.
Also thought the tail wheel was retractable in the  Mk XVI

Well thats the joy of skins, there are lots to choose from.  I like D-Day stripes on some a/c, but not on every single scheme, no. Historically the IXes had them so thats why I would like to see it.

No, the Spit XVI is just a Spit IX which is a development of the Mk V's airframe.

The Spitfire Mk VIII introduced things like retractable tail wheels and shortened ailerons.  The Mk XIV, XVIII and XIX are developments of the Mk VIII airframe.  The Spitfire F.21 was a major redesign of the Spitfire and all Spitfires and Seafires above Mk 21 are based, in part at least, off the F.21.

Karnak thank you for clearing that up about the MK XVI.
Now I realy want the Mk VIII. It just seems rite to have the transitions in airframes to the Mk XIV.

in pictures you guys show, the rudder is flat at the trailing edge.

Every photo I have of the Mk XVI shows the rudder to be curved as SUPERFLY made it on AH's Mk XVI.

Oddly enough, I am 100% with you on this one. Add the light blue IX skin as #3 on the list.

Personally, I think all the similar schemes for the spits get old. I like the blue, the pink, and the non-standard schemes (i.e. the sand/brown for the SpitV) but if you just have grey/green and different number codes, ya only need 2 of those (1 with, 1 without invasion stripes). After that it gets old, fast. I ran out of interesting 190a5 skins for the same reason. Superficially different details but the rest of the scheme is the same :(

That is one reason we really want the Mk VIII Krusty.  It has the widest variety of camo schemes of any Spitfire Mk.  North Africa, Pacific, USAAF, RAF, RAAF, ect, ect....
