I've looked at Spit 16's stats/capabilities.

Im betting Spit LF 16 will be a great match (but not "historical" match) to Ki-84.  imo these planes are serious dogfighters with correct balance of speed, climb, agility, and firepower:)

Don't know if they ever ran into Ki84s but the RAF Spit VIII pilots in the CBI ran into Japanese fighters  on more then one occasion.  Mostly Ki43s.

So if we get the LF VIII, fighting Japanese fighters isn't out of the question historically.  Both the RAF and RAAF flew the VIII against the Japanese.
