Great choice. I own one just like that and wouldnt trade it for anything.

After you shoot it a bit you'll never really want to shoot anything else. I like shooting other stuff but when asked whats my favorite to shoot, it will always be my .45 USP.

Damn I'm glad there are some HK fans around these parts.

**quick edit**
At some point pick up one of those Hogue slip on grips.

I have the same one.  Mine is from 1996.   Buy a Hogue Handall grip for it.  Other than that addition, my USP is bone stock.

You get 12 rounds mags with it or 10?

Karaya

PS - Good choice

Congrats, but you shall now forever be known as a "gun nut".  With this goes the believe that you chew tobacco, drive a truck, wear old T-shirts and kill innocent animals with large weapons.

:D

Damn Dago you just described me to the "t".     I do chew on occassion but my addiction is cigarettes.   I do drive a Dodge Ram 4X4 quad cab.   I shoot deer with my 12ga slug gun.   I do wear ratty old Tshirts and ball caps.    But, I do not listen to country music.

Nice weapon Grun.    I myself like the Kimber .45's but HK's are very good weapons.

Bodhi.

Ohio is a slug gun only state for deer.    Its to populated and to flat in the NE and NW part of the state.   Down in southern Ohio its all hills.    That make any sense?

The longest shot to date on any whitetail I have taken is about 80 to 85 yards.    Broke the bucks neck with one shot.

What county are you hunting in down yonder way?  I took a nice doe yesterday less than 5 minutes from my house (Franklin County) after spending about 10 minutes in my stand.

When gun season comes around we go out to the club in Jefferson Co. (Steubenville area) and I spend the week there.  3 Statewide tags and 4 more urban tags to go :)  mmm...venison tenderloin...mmm...jerky...mm m...steaks...mmm...more tenderloin.

One area we hunt is an old strip mine (miles of open ground) and a .50 caliber sabot does wonders at 200 yds.

Grun - Hasn't it been left OFF safety for the pic? tut tut!

Looks similar to the Kimber that Lazs let me try, except that Lazs's had an additional "palm grip" safety on the back of the grip.

I cut my finger on those damn slider serrations.

the HK is a great gun...

I just don't have any use for one.

Don't take that wrong.   I like revolvers.. I like 44 mag revolvers and 12 oz 357 revolvers that will fit in a front pocket and not be any worse than a cell phone..

I like Kimber or colt clones that are accurate.

Why?   the revolvers do it all and I can load anything I want into em and they don't throw my brass away... when I shoot a 45 is is for... fun at short range... I want one that is solid with a 2 lb trigger pull and feels like metal... that adds to the fun.  No other reason.  the HK will do everything my kimber will do as well, allmost as well, or better.

The things it does better.... I don't need.  I have better handguns and shotguns and rifles for that.

I am sure that a lot of it has to do with me being old fashioned and growing up with different types of firearms.

If the only gun I could carry would be one holstered pistol... I might feel differently..  that is as fair as I can get on the subject.

and even then... I wouldn't feel too bad with a single action revolver in 44 mag.
