There was an AirWarrior group that raced every week about a year ago. We had a ton of fun but burnout seems to happen very quick in GPL. If any of you ex-AW'ers still want to race, post a message, lets do it!

 i race with GROWl http://www.siliconchisel.com/dok/index.php

It's a GPL league of pilots from AH & WB, we race once a week for a "season' of 11 or 12 races. I guess because we race each other every week the races tend to more civil.

Some of us are fast, most not so, new drivers are wellcome

There is also a web sight (VROC) to link to other races. I don't have a link for the NASCAR4 online races.

It's best to use a wheel & pedel setup, i have a logitech, but there are other good ones.

Welp, looks like its a no go with GPL for me.  Cant get the D3D patch to work.  Here are my system specs:

P3 550MHz
128MB RAM
Elsa Erazor X2 (Geforce 2 32MB VRam)

after following D3D installation instructions, I exit and restart and end up back at the desktop.  Ideas?

This sounds like a lot of fun. I've just ordered GPL.

The thing is, I'm in the UK and 10 PM EDT is 3AM at the moment. Which would be impossible.

Are any leagues set-up with abit more accpetable time?

Cheers.

This GROWL league is a blast! We've had about six races so far, and the skill level is growing. Lots of intense, racing action that is just as much fun as furballing. I really recommend that you give it a try. We currently have about 15 regulars that race every Saturday night.

Hi All,
Finally got around to downloading the V1.2 patch and the D3D patch. WOW! It looks stunning running at 1280*1024. I'm still struggling with a stick instead of a wheel but I am getting there.

Anyone willing to post some times for the different circuits? I'm not going to embarrise myself by posting mine here just yet but it would be cool to know just how far off I am. What setting do you all use online. (Damage model, realism settings etc). I assume throttle & braking assist is for dweebs.

Thanks in advance

I've been playing this sim for a couple of months now and these are some of my times:

Rouen - 2:03.xx
Kylami - 1:23.xx
Mosport - 1:23.xx
Mexico - 1:53.xx
Watkins Glen - 1:07.xx
Monaco - 1:32.xx
Monza - 1:31.xx
Zandvoort - 1:30.xx

Most of these times are five or more seconds off the mark.

This sim has a steep learning curve for me!

Dowding, I use a Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP wheel & pedals(USB). The force feedback in GPL is awesome!

Wow Blur,
I'm generally about 8 seconds outside you times at the moment (Assuming I can hook up a clean lap). Apart from Monaco where I'm nearer 20 seconds slower (God I hate thet track - Very pretty but evil). Still using a stick so I would hope to shave a few seconds off when I get a wheel. I'm still undecided on which wheel, I have the boss's permission, but a budget Force Feedback or decent non FFB is my only option. The more I hear about FFB in GPL the more I think I need the FFB one.

Heh - just installed GPL.

It's pretty difficult, even with my X-36 combo.  ;)

I can barely complete a lap, nevermind actually be competitive.

Snafu - I have same dilemma. Not sure what to do yet.

Ok dammit....how much does GPL cost?  I might just have to go out and get the damn thing now.  I have NASCAR 4 but havent raced it online yet.

Cheers.

Sorry Dowding, have to ask.

Is the time difference planning on changing in the near future?    :D

griz    ;) at the moment.

edit: Meant to add, I've really been looking into this game and hope to purchase it soon. The League sounds like fun, and look forward to racing against you all.

Heh Grizz, I wish it WOULD change. It'd make life a lot easier. Or maybe I'll just move to the States?  ;)

I've found some UK based leagues, but they seem very, very, very serious. I read on one forum that someone had cancelled a first wedding anniversary celebration just to race.

But maybe I'll try to join the GROWL league after I've practised some.
