Remember Michael Brown, the man Bush hand picked to run FEMA then screwed the pooch? He was fired, right? Wrong.

Michael Brown is still on the FEMA payroll. He was given a 30 day reprieve and stayed on the FEMA payroll as a consultant. Today, he was given another 30 day extension and remains on the Bush cronie teat.

Consider it knowledge transfer.

Say, isn't there bigger fish to fry on Bush than Brownie? You're slacking rpm...3 more years, I love to watch people squirm! :D

Knowledge transfer? A man is fired for incompetence and you keep him on to train the newbie? Now that's a winning strategy.

There certainly IS bigger fish to fry, Kove size. This just struck me as a perfect example of the corruption this administration has patented.

That one was created in the mid-nineties for those who supported Clinton. Welcome to last decade.

Here, your theories are better fit for demonstrations such as this:

Wait a minute Rip... Have you not heard about the outright LIES Brown told to the Senate? Or about the e-mail correspondence with a FEMA official in the Superdome? My god man. What exactly are you defending?

it is not uncommon for out-going executives to stay on as advisors/consultants just because of the exeperience they have with their employers.  It's called continuity.

Half a Mo'!

We have the head of FEMA saying to the SENATE that he was told by his employee that all was well in the Superdome......

We have that same employee with documentation and evidence saying to the SENATE that he said the situation was "desperate".

Then to top it off we have the press secretary of the head of FEMA sending a reply to the "desperate" e-mail saying Brownie needs more time for dinner.

But Y'all go on defending this circus.:aok

a real republican would simply disband fema.   It is a useless organization.  All we should have is a warning center.

Not just Fema.  Social security, welfare,  veterans benefits  (if the military wanted you to have a family they would have issued you one!) and unemployment insurance programs too.

Dump these sucking-money-out-of-my-wallet  "liberal inspired" social services.   Let Darwinism and Intelligent Design guide the fate of the stupid and weak..

westy... I agree.   how is SS any better than any private plan ever developed?  welfare?  you realize that there was a time before welfare right and that no one starved?   You will admit that welfare does make some people less productive than if it did not exist?

veterans benifiets?  well... we owe em... it was part of their pay package.  if we want to change that in the future... fine..let's see how people feel about it.  I say that it is a good deal tho.  war and raising an army is inefficient and wastefull but it is the only government waste that should be tolerated.

unemployment insurance?  sure..dump it and give the employee the money that is being withheld to pay for it.   Let him buy afflac or some private insurance for less money if he wishes... if he would rather buy more "stuff" with the extra money then.... yes... maybe darwinism is needed.   But..

I give people more credit than you do.  I think that most will watch and imitate what the smart ones do.

as for fema.... it is corrupt and inept.   a typical government debacle.  What is it's real purpose?

To hand people money for being stupid?   really... what is it's function?  pass out blankets?  churches and charities do that and much better..  To give every scumbag who walks up and claims to be a victim a "debit card" for thousands of dollars?
