What an awesome airplane....Yeah its not the fastest, and doesnt turn that well but that baby can sure fly!  Plus an incredible weapons package and ENY of 55 its a Perk Monster!

I am new to the 109 series and am having trouble with accuracy with the 30MM....Any Tips?  Additionally do we have any 109 pros that could take an hour or so and come to the DA with me to help me out with the 30?  PM  me please...
thanks all

I doubt the G-14's ENY will stay at 55 for long, probably closer to 30-40.

I think generaly the 109s are less of a plane than they were in 2.5.  50 ENY is about right.

Not that the 109 was ever anything special, but it was a more challenging ride than many, yet was still competative.  (Note the verb was).

With only 30mm spinner cannon, you have to get real close, and give the bogey a pretty good lead.  When you had 20mms and the 30mm, you could ping the hell out of a bogey with the pathetic German 50s and unimpressive 20mms.  Once they had enough controls shot away, the 30mm did the job.  Often just 20mms could do the job if aimed well.

And forget shooting buffs with the new F4.  I sat on a B24s six pinging him with the single 20mm for about 4 to 5 seconds (the first night of the new patch) before he shredded my wings.  I bailed, and the buff never did go down.  With the gondolas the F4 could take out a buff, not easily, but the buff would go down.

But taking my gondolas away from the F4, and takings both the gondolas and the 30mm spinner cannon from the G6.  Well, you just cut the stingers off of the bees.

All in all my reaction to the new 109's is to go from the 109F4 and G6 to the 190A8.

But I am enjoying the 190A8 with the full guns package with the 30mms.  I used to fly the A8 with only 4 20mms.

I just love the new Spit, but anyone can fly a Spit and look good.

Still, I may give the Typhoon a look at.  It has 4 hispanos, and it is an allied airplane. Not that I am anti-German, but I would rather fly Allied iron.  And face it, 2 hispanos seems to do more damage that 4 of the German 20mms. :)

Current 109 ENY values:

F-4 43
G-2 42
G-6 40
G-14 55
K-4 20

Since the G-14 is nothing more than a G-6 with better WEP and the added option of a 30mm spinner cannon it should be between the G-6 and K-4 in ENY value. I'd guess it ends up around 35.

It must be me then, because to me, it seems like the G14 turns like a lumber wagon with flat tires compared to the old G6.  I am talking with gondolas now.  I have hardly ever flown a 109 with out gondolas.

My philosophy is that a 109 with gondolas will out turn a Spit that is missing a wing. :)

This all may be mute for me, as I am finding that the 190A8 with the added 30mms makes a good GV killer as well as buff and fighter killer. :aok :aok

Darn near as good as the old C Hog and it ain't perked.  Well, maybe not as good as a C Hawg, but you get my point, lots of speed n firepower, good views, excellent roll rate etc etc.

Now the old F4 and G6 were pretty nice knife fighters, and packed a punch :)

Get in real close or aim a little high over 200m.  1 tap 1 kill.  I'm not a pro but check into the CT anytime you want and anyone from JG54 will probably be glad to help German Iron is pretty much all we fly.  just ask.

G14 is nice, but the K4 is gods figt to 109 pilots.
