Congrats!

My wife had the gestational diabetes for two of our three kids.  They all turned out fine as did the wife.

Many thanks for all those congratulations!

Makes me feel a little dishonest as she, as you are all propbably well aware, did all the hard work!

Have passed on the volume of responses to her today, and to say she was shocked was an undertstatement!!!

"I thought it was just a game" she said............

Women huh?!

Had a little hiccup today and she had to go back into hospital with the baby.

Baby wasnt feeding properly once we got her home today, the midwives tought it may be due to being premature, however it turns out there is nothing wrong, we had bought a brand name bottle whose "teats" are a little firm (down boys!!).

Junior drank like a fish from one of the hospital bottles just to prove the point
That's all it was, so all being well both will be home for good tomorrow after a night of observation.

Again many thanks for your kind words!
Just a game, jeesh!!

Congrats Smiggles
In a way I know the kind of thing you went through, at present my daughter, the 24 year old, is 7 months pregnant and she's been diabetic since she was 11. This made everything extra difficult and out of the last 3 months she's only been home for 2 weeks the rest of that time in one hospital or another.

Whoa, Smiggyy steady on old pal - take a deep breath & count to ten.  You're setting a dangerous precedent here & potentially opening a road to domestic servitude.

I mean OK, giving birth is a bit uncomfortable & it probably smarts a little towards the end, but what about the man?  Endless pacing the maternity suite corridor, chain smoking, finger nails chewed to the core, caffeine tremor, sweated brow   -   the emotional pain!! :lol

Regards ;)

Finally home..........

We're home finally, after having to go back in for what we thought was a feeding problem it turned out that "junior" had a problem with her red blood cell count.

This was making her excessively drowsy and not willing to feed and she was suffering from jaundice.
They called it bilirubens.

She was placed on a bilimat, this emits ultraviolet light to mimic the sun, draws the cells to the surface of skin where they are dispersed.

Her counts were taken yesterday twice, they had fallen twice on both occasions so we were allowed home.

Apart from getting up twice in night all is well!

Oh apart from central heating has decided to pack up!
Still can't have it all can you!

Many thanks again for kind words and congratulations and to those enjoying thanksgiving enjoy and be safe!
