I'm getting a blazing fast 6k/s... I can transmit data faster by reading it and typing it into a file myself.

I'd love to try this game out, but you just can't buy computer games at any of the video game stores around here anymore... and this download should be finished sometime around the same time I die of old age.

Open steam, click on file, settings, then click on the 'internet' tab and set your connection speed from the drop down menu. However, you wont get 'blazing fast' download speeds.

Been running ZA with AH for the entire time I've been playing it. The update lock-up problem with AH1 stunk, but you could work around it, and I've had no problems at all ZA-wise with AH2.

On the other hand, all of the monstrous problems I had running WW2 FPS's like Americas Army and BF 1942 etc kind of soured me to the entire genre. I've been a one game guy since then. The testimonies I've been reading have tended to only reinforce that decision. I guess I'll just buy an Xbox if I change my mind.

BTW - HT et al, thanks for producing a game that usually runs on my cobbled together PC without problems and for fixing the problems promptly when it doesn't. [Except for the times I've had to upgrade, please stop making me do that, or send money, that would be just as good.]

one thing about RO I dont like at all is the prediction codes or whatever, you are running in a group with 5 guys, and they are all spinning around as you move. Same with long range bad guys, cant head shoot him as he is spinning in place like a top. Rubber bullets are bad too. some guy ran right at my mg42, from 100 yards. firing short bursts into him til the belt ran out and he was 20 ft in front of me!:furious  he grenaded me.

Nah, its not the bullets, he was obviously a terminator. We use dogs to spot them. Try a phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range next time.

What ping server are you playing on? I haven't had anything like you describe. However, I only play on servers with less the 100 ping...

Standard servers 32 max, with mutators I have seen higher numbers.

Its on the Quake 2.5 engine so if you have played America's Army you will be familiar with the netcode etc...

Well, I tried it.  I have to say I like BF2 better.

Gameplay is the typical "team-FPS".  This typically means that on "assault" maps the defender outnumbers the attacker 1.5 to 1, and the "defending" team ends up camping the "attacking" teams spawn point.

A couple maps seemed interesting to play, I had fun on Odessa and Krazny whateverthehell... both of those seemed a bit difficult to get to the spawn to camp it.

The "meeting engagement" type maps can be interesting, except all the ones I've played on so far involve mainly vehicles, which I'm not that into with this game.  They are hard to see out of, and 1-2 hits will kill a tank.

Bottom line I'd say, if you are on the fence and already have a FPS you can waste some time on, don't get this.

To see out of the tanks better roll your mouse wheel to either zoom in a bit or to open the hatch (unbottoned).
