Why old women need to carry a gun

lots of choices eh beet?  all the same.   Riding a mower in tiny little limeyland is not the same thing as anything in Texas.

I have shot about a dozen dogs in my life... they all react differently..

this is farm and ranch country.. the city boys with lawn mowing services move out here and let their big dogs run free... the dogs pack up and attack livestock and.... people.

There was this group of three large dogs that had been attacking my guys and if you made it  back to your truck they would hit the windows growling and snapping and chase the truck.

I got the 44 mag 4" and when they came the first one faced me and growled and the other two flanked out on each side.... like they would a mother sheep or cow.

The first round took the lead dog high on the back and I seen the round hit the dirt behind him... he spun around and kicked a bit...  the other two stopped but started growling and barking... the next round cought the dog on my left (closest) in the shoulder and he spun and bit at himself before he died.. the other dog backed up 20' or so and growled then ran..  next shot missed  and last shot took him somewhere in the lower body.   he spun and bit at the wound then got in the brush and under a fence....

Hope he made it home to his owner..

The owner got another big dog that I took with one shot to the head about a month latter.  somehow.... That 44 seemed a lot more comforting and reliable than getting a can of spocks doggy perfume.

I would like to see at least 10% of the population have concealed carry permits...  seems to lower crime.

Mr ripley... Americans feel that they are individuals with rights as individuals... We feel that we are part of "society" so long as that society does not infringe on our rights.

Keep these articles coming, guys! I find that Ameritard paranoia is one of the funniest things on this board!

For being from the mother land, the lack of grasp of the English language is amazing.

Paranoia is something that is unfounded.

It is not paranoia to fear packs of dogs when 6 dogs kill an elderly lady.

There's absolutely no reason why an attack dog should be left to run unleashed in a housing enviroment.

I would be willing to bet that the city or county had a leash law,  and the dog owner ignored it.  Just like criminals ignore gun laws and any other law.

It amazes me that more women do not pack guns.

That way when some abusive jerk attempts to assault them they could fight back.

It is no wonder some of the brits on this board fear armed people.

Nothing worse then a dude who abuses women and children.

Correct...but it IS paranoia to be afraid that a pack of dogs is going to kill you everytime you step outside.

GTO...by that logic all children should be armed too...right?

curval... your chance of ever needing a seat belt is even slighter than the chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime.... does that mean that people who put on seatbelts are paranoid?

If more people had concealed carry permits it is possible that someone witnessing the attack could have shot the dogs..

bystanders getting a gun and stopping dog attacks are not that uncommon here.  How do you think police stop dog attacks?   they shoot.

and GTO... the fastest growing segment of the population that is getting concealed carry permits is..... women.

Another needless death that might have been prevented any number of ways.  Had she carried a gun, had the guy who tried to help her had a gun, or if dog owners were held more accountable by local authorities for the actions of their dogs BEFORE this sort of thing happens.

Carrying a gun while riding a lawn mower? Do you know anyone that does this? And if so, why?

Gotta ease up on the cartoons. Dogs do not think this way.

Yeah, dogs don't confront for revenge. It was probably an intervention gone awry.

No, it means they are obeying the law.

Yes it's possible.  Is it not also "possible" that the witness could have killed the granny instead of a dog by mistake?

I thought they used tasers and mace more often...just in case they miss and kill some innocent bystander?

Really?  That's interesting.  Given your general distrust of females in general I'm surprised you are happy about that.

curval - lazs is in one of his "la la la la - I don't want to hear this" moods. You could type a rational post 6 times or till you were blue in the face (whichever came first) and lazs would say something like "so what are you saying?" or "so you're saying that it's the fault of women or big government?"

I'm not wasting any more time - not today at least.

We have a joke. It's better to have Saiga (semi-authomatic carabine), even not to have it when you need it.

So, it's not important, are you an old lady or not. It's always a good idea to carry a gun. Sure if your law approve it.

I'd wear my seat belt even if it wasn't the law.  I guess I'm paranoid.
