Yes curval, we would have to exclude your death from the stats for two reasons: 1) you would have been killed by a black man; 2) By ignoring the fact that you were killed, we can count you in the living population so that the homicides per capita figure doesn't look as bad.

They may not be true Uk'ers, but they both have Union Jack on their flags, drive on the wrong side of the street, and probably spell color wrong. Give Lazs some slack.

No conspiracy buffs amoung the firearm owning fraternity in NZ.

Our govt made it it perfecty clear that the primary reason they wanted to introduce registration for all guns was to make it easier for them to restrict/ban selected types of firearms of their choosing. They were going to start with but not end with ; self loading rifles and pump action shot guns. It was freeking obvious that the ramifications of this would be to decimate a sport/hobby enjoyed by tens of thousands of people.. for no good reason. It was an exercise by a govt trying to satisfy it's own control fetish.

At least the govt was open with it's intentions, which probably ensured that it was never going to get the 80%+ compliance level from gun owners that it said it needed for universal registration (and the gun control measures that would have followed) to work.

But that ain't the end of it.
It's still work in progress, and the bastiges never sleep.

The 18th century seems to be a fine place to stop. Nothing much seems to have changed there since then. Well seems like there was the tea party and all the *** kicking, but after that It was pretty much a gray colored, boring wall. During that time I was much more interested in Native American history. beet and curval... if you got shot by a black that would put you in the less than 4% of the whites murdered by blacks.. insignificant...murders in the U.S. happen along racial lines... blacks murder blacks and whites murder whites. Sincea lot of the unsolved murders are of blacks it would be pretty much fair to assume that most of them were commited by other blacks.

I used to admire aussies for their rugged individualism but when they gave up their guns like lambs I admit to being dissapointed... It doesn't really jibe with why you need to arm yourselves in the US to protect yourselves then.

If you are safe from blacks...who according to you commit all the crime...being a white guy why would you need to protect yourself? Are you protecting yourself from maurading bands of toothless rednecks, angry yuppies, beserker city folk? What?

certainly it does.... whites here commit allmost as much crime as whites in that tiny little island that owns yours.

While it is prudent to stay out of ghettos... there are still bad guys, snakes vicious dogs and wild animals and uppity governments to contend with...

and a firearm is a really really good tool to have for that... plus... as you know (but are forbiden to enjoy).. they are just so darn much fun.

Not according to the FBI.

According to them, of the 16,137 murders in the US last year, 5,608 were by black people, 5,339 by whites. In 4717 cases the race of the offender was unknown or unreported.

That's not 52% of murders by blacks, and half the unsolved ones as well, it's about 52% of the known murders by blacks, and presumably a similar proportion of the unknown ones as well, for an overall total of about 50%.

You have a very odd way of interpreting statisics, lazs.

Actually there are more white victims than black victims in total. Of those murders where the race of the victim was reported, 6,929 were white, 6,632 were black. If murders are on racial lines (and they are, to a large extent) then that would indicate more unsolved murders are of whites by whites, with the total of white murders in the US being just over half.

The only real conclusion, because of the number of unknowns, is that the murder rate in the US is split almost equally between whites and blacks, about 50% each.
