WTG Tango. A great film with a spectacular use of the music. It was so cool to have the action fit so well with the tempo and lyrics of the song. That is true production value and cinematography.

Best movie I've seen.  You put a lot of "love" into that baby... and it shows.

PS I think Skuzzy just found a NEW FEATURED MOVIE to put on AH homepage.

A question (or a few).

What program do you use to capture and what program do you use to compress aswell as what format?

Thinking about giving movie making a try and would like to know some good programs and formats.

Put together a move a long time ago but it ended at 900mb for a few minutes (think I got it down to 90 eventually).

Thanks again for the comments fellas.  Glad folks are enjoying it!

Wilbus:

I used all of the following:
AH Film Viewer - camera angles and camera shots
Fraps - capture vid clips from AH films
Virtual Dub - clip editing (filters, crops, etc.) and compression
MS Movie Maker 2 - assembling clips into a production

There's a good tutorial on simhq that goes through the use of these tools (albeit written more for IL2):
How To Make Your Own Simulation Movies

From a compression standpoint it's a multistage process I go through.
(1)Clips edited in Virtual Dub saved in raw uncompressed AVI
(2)Final full production in MS MM2  saved in raw uncompressed AVI (for Mustang Rhapsody ~ 1.3 GB I think)
(3)Hi-Res version  - production raw AVI compressed using XVID mpeg4 codec and processed through Virtual Dub.  Result is an xvid compressed AVI file (1.3 GB --> 225 MB).
(4)Med-Res version - production raw AVI compressed using MS MM2 with it's built in windows media mpeg4 v2 codec.  Result is a wmv file (1.3 GB --> 33 MB).

And the nice part...
Fraps is shareware - have to pay for it but really reasonable.
Virtual Dub is free!
MS MM2 is free if you have Windows XP!

Hope that helps!

Straffo:

???  Works OK for me while at work.  Try again?  Was worried we were hitting a limit on downloads allowed but that's not the case.

A really great flick. WTG
