Bad Language
« on: December 21, 2005, 01:40:45 PM »
Is there really no recourse for foul language on Range besides squelching?  No way to just terminate the offender.

I often have kids around watching me play (or taking the controls at times).  Last night we had someone using foul language.  When asked to curb the use, he went on a five minute rampage just streaming every dirty word he ever heard.  Quite mature, indeed.

I don't believe I should have to squelch range.   If we submit the film, will action be taken?

Thanks.

Right click the player from the roster. There are two options to report someone. You can report them for voice or text. That flags the person with a date and time stamp for review by HTC. Appropriate action will then be taken if deemed necessary.

Maybe it was the same guy on the other night. He was shot down by a B26 from behind:confused:  Then he upped and foully abused all two of us there for not giving him check six.  How he failed to notice the a bomber formation overhead I'll never know.  I laughed myself sick. But his language was way over the top. I actually considered reporting him but couldn't remember how. Next time I will.

Its sad when you hear adults using the F word. Little kids have an excuse, they don't know any better, but it pisses me off to hear some 40 year old player rant like a total idiot on vox over a pc game.

Film this player, and submit it to HTC. Nothing happens when you report them. I've reported the same core group of idiots probably hundreds of times, and they're still here, spewing their same crap.

It does suck, but I don't expect a lot from certain people, and wear headphones, so their idiocy doesn't offend anyone who might be near enough to hear.

Thatīs the advantage of being a non-english speaker: if i donīt listen very well, i do not understand anything in the voice channel. So one one can offend me with bad language, as i do tend to put my focus on flying. (Often to not much avail) :-)

If your not using headphones and the little ones hear bad words then whos really to blame?

Squelch or headphones and stop crying about it.

No.  I choose not to.  Nor do I believe this should be a place for idiots to use bad language.  Kids play.

No one was crying, he asked a question. And to answer your question, the one using foul language on range would be the one to blame.

Yeah right HT is going to do something to a paying customer. Last night I had 00Stang call me a some than, some than, puzzie or something to that effect. Aces High has long been a un-moderated forum, with both text and voice abuse.

Its like crying about the weather you cant do nuthin about it.
So why not take precausions to protect your kids?

Headphones or squelch you have those choices and If you decide not to use them then yeas it is your fault.

And If HTC terminated everyone who shot there mouth off on range he would be
out of buisness as almost everyone has said something off color on range at one point or another.

Think about it if you have 500 players on at a time not all are going to be adult about things and sound off with potty mouth stuff.

Like said above simply go to the roster right click the players handle and report him .

But in reality not much will happen. Atleast it has not when I have reported people for the same.

Dont missunderstand me as I do agree with you but If you cant change it
just take measures to protect your kids as that is your responsability.
