This is an 8.5 minute long, 32.5 MB video that I just converted from my old 8mm to digital (circa 1993).
Alaska was a great place to push and punish vehicles.  After breaking too many of my daily drivers I started buying beaters for $25 to $100. Dollar for dollar, maximum car fun comes from one that you don’t care about.

I like how the exhaust note changed after the muffler got ripped off.  I giggled like a little girl all the way through the video.  We did that once with a Chevy Chevette.  It was unbelievable how much abuse it took before it died.

I'd like to see the after photo...

I’m pretty sure we never got an after shot, although that was the intention.  If I recall, the car looked remarkably straight after all of that.  I think we cracked the windshield, blinkers and maybe a headlight.  The paint had some scrapes and gouges, but not much down to the metal.  There might have been a few minor dents on the hood and grille.  I got that car from a stranger who sought me out because he heard I bought trashed cars to beat up.  I hadn’t realized that I had developed a reputation, but I was happy to give the guy $100 for his Caddy.

I had a Toyota that we did the same thing to on the same trails, and I think I have a film of it as well.  That car was devastated.  If I find the tape I’ll certainly convert it and post it.

Now that looks like it was fun.  Cadillacs are nothing if not strong.

I noticed that the driver said something like "This thing has some power!".   That's unsurprising since that Caddy probably had a 472 V-8.

We used to do the same thing.  Buy old beaters for 100 bucks and go smash em up, run em into trees, jump ramps and hills, try to duplicate Dukes of Hazard stunts, etc.  We usually knocked the glass out first for safety reasons, but sometimes we wanted to see how much impact it would take on a door say to shatter the window without a direct hit.

Pure fun.  Video brought back some great memories.  Thanks for sharing.  :)
