Bowling Pins (Target, craft etc...)
« on: January 02, 2006, 10:37:07 PM »
I've got a few cases of AMFLITE bowling pins stacked up in my shed and am going to throw them  up on ebay sometime this week.

Any AH community members have use for them as targets or into craftmaking and so forth?  I'm going to divide them up into "targets" and "Craftworthy" based on overall condition and what not.

Anyone interested can email me their requests or post here.

Will send them out to BBs users for nada other than shipping.

:lol  RPM.   They might make good targets...hmmm  Why do you have cases of bowling pins?  You weren't a moonshine smuggler during prohibition were you?
Who are you to wave your finger?

Worked part time at a bowling center.  When they got a new shipment of pins in and pulled the old ones, they stacked them in the back.  I asked the manager how much it would cost for 20 (in my mind I was asking for 20 pins) and he replied "20 cases?"  He gave me run of the lot and I loaded up my truck and wound up with around 50 cases.  I've got maybe 20 left (that's 200 pins!) and want to get rid of them before I move.

And nirvana...they don't "might" make good targets.  They do make great targets.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh bowling pin wars.  Brings back memories of my inventive and productive youth. :)
On one Halloween, in our small community that I grew up in, we started an egg war which quickly progressed into a bowling pin war in a matter of days. We raided the back of a bowling alley in a town not too far away and it was ON. Bent fenders, broken auto glass and a few trips to get stitched up. It was great fun for all.
On one particular night our group was in hot pursuit of a pickup load of the enemy group down a dirt road. We were gaining fast. A very hefty member of the enemy group had climbed into the bed of the pickup being pursued to get a better launching position for the pins. This was in a very remote area of farm land that got none to very little traffic at night. We chased said enemy into a tight turn. Coming through turn in a full power slide we saw the PU come to a crashing halt with sparks flying, dust and paint chips scattering and the hefty young lad in the rear do a beautifull launch from the bed of the truck, over the cab , the hood and into the darkness. It was an awesome and much apreciated bonus to the night`s activities. :)
What had happened became obvious pretty quick when we got to the crash site. There was a Mustang parked, facing the oncoming pickup, just around the turn on the dirt road. It seems that a guy from a small town near by had taken one of our local, hometown sweethearts out for a little night time, dirt road, romancing. The girl was the daughter of one our small town`s , very prominent citizens. She was known localy for being a little angel, "nice girl" , etc. In other words , no back seat boogey for this chick. She was untouchable. Well...........at the time of the crash it seems that l`il miss America was performing....... uuuum......ahhhh.......she was down........uuummm....aaahhhh .....humming the flute. :)  At the time of impact of the crash, the amarous young male received a very, very serious bite in a not so pleasant place to be bit. :) He did recover after some reconstructive magic performed by the surgeons. He moved from his small town after recovery. The L`il halo polisher`s family packed up and moved away from our small town in record time. :rofl
I highly recommend the purchase of these bowling pins. They just might provide you with some serious, enjoyable entertainment and some amusing memories that will last a life time. :)

Choose your method of shipping from Zipcode 43026, Nirvana.

They are good targets for 12 gauge slugs and rifles.   Never shot one with a BBgun however.

I'll take them, and drive down to pick them up.  We use them as targets for Bowling Pin shoots.

Golfer-

No offense, but, what would you want with 200 bowling pins?  When I was a kid my mom, who is really creative, took a bunch of old pins given to her by the local alley and put hats and clothes and painted faces on them and gave  away to her league buddies as throphies.  Some had glasses and doll wigs.  They were pretty neat.

I took them as targets and I had a place to put them.

I'm going to be moving and since I'm the worlds biggest pack-rat I have lots of things I don't or can't take or need with me.  Most of these things are at my folks' place and I was over there sorting through everything.

I've seen a few bowling pin lamps but thought I'd offer here since I know there's a pretty good demographic of shooters.

I'm going to keep a few cases for myself to shoot and a few more to Ebay.

If they sell I might just start myself an ebay business :D

TCE2506 has 10 cases set aside for his shooting club in Zanesville.

rshubert has 10 cases set aside also.

Anyone else near enough to Ohio to want a lot of 10 cases? (100 pins)

UPS ground, whatever is cheapest since I don't need them in any hurry.  1 case would probably be fine.  Zipcode 80013.
